More About Coach John

I carry 11 years of experience coaching high school football with a broad range of responsibilities. Positions I've coached include Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Linebackers, Defensive Backs, and have also been Offensive Coordinator numerous times. I've also been the Director of Strength Training and Conditioning for 4 years, and am a certified personal trainer. I've worked with the whole range of skill levels from beginner to advanced.

I have played football for over 20 years. I was the starting Quarterback for a state semi-finalist high school team. I finished the season with 0 interceptions during the regular season. I've also played semi-pro for the Frederick Outlaws, and countless recreation leagues. Unfortunately, poor decision making at the end of high school hindered my opportunity to play at the next level, which is the very reason I coach now–to help others, and prevent them from making the same mistakes.

All sessions will be tailored to the goals and desires agreed upon by trainer and athlete. But, every session will consist of and begin with a solid warm-up and finish with flexibility/cool-down. Sandwiched in between we can perform a variety of elements, including (but not limited to): speed, acceleration, agility, power, explosion, strength, endurance, cardiorespiratory fitness, plyometrics, and reactions. We can also work on position specific fundamentals, technique, and skill drills. All plans and preparations will be made collectively with the athlete prior to the sessions.

Coach John has been working with my son for the past 6 months at the quarterback position. We have been highly impressed with Coach John's approach to each session. He is constantly adding new skills/drills, reviewing previous lessons to ensure progress, and adding strengthening and stretching techniques to each lesson all in an effort to improve the client. During the lesson John proves immediate feedback ensuring that the drill/ technique is done correctly. Initially my son had little confidence in being a starting quarterback, John has instilled a sense of confidence in his ability which has increased his motivation and work ethic. Coach John was an amazing trainer to work with and is extremely helpful with all problems I have. He's outstanding in his field of work and training with him the first time felt like I have always been training with him as he's a very open individual and I instantly clicked with him. Coach John helped me with areas that needed improvement and aided me beyond expectation. Working with Coach John was not only beneficial to my skills and knowledge of my position group but was also enjoyable as well. An excellent factor that John harbors in his tool belt is that he's flexible in many positions rather than only being skilled in one.
