More About Coach John
I am a NASM certified personal trainer that specializes in Strength and Conditioning and elite fitness.
I have been involved in fitness for 15 years, Whether training myself for sport, training other athletes for sport, or training individuals to meet their personal goals, I have always been committed to excellence.
I run a strength and conditioning program that develops individuals, athletes, and teams to reach elite levels of fitness. I am dedicated to the pursuit of optimal performance. Whether you are a child, an elite athlete, or something in between, I am here to help you reach your goals.
Each time you participate in a in a session with me you will be coached. High quality coaching yields faster results and prevents injury. I take an old school approach to strength and conditioning, emphasizing fundamental functional fitness through ever-changing workouts that combine the most effective training methods of Weightlifting, Gymnastics, and High Intensity Cardio. There isn’t a strength and conditioning program anywhere that works with a greater diversity of tools, modalities, and drills.
I am far more than just an exercise teacher. I try to change lives. Your long term health, athletic development and well being encompasses more than just what happens inside the gym. What you eat, how much (or little you sleep), and your day to day stress levels all impact how you look, feel, and perform. I want you to feel your best, live life to the fullest and look good doing it too!
My approach begins with the basics. First, I will teach you to move well. Once that is mastered, you will move often. Next, I will mix in doses of intensity to unlock your true athletic potential. I time, score and measure work because I believe fitness can, and should, be measured. We live in a world of constantly lowering standards that implies that mediocrity is a goal to be met. You will not find that at here. I believe you must get out of your comfort zone in order to make change and achieve results.
With me you will train incredibly hard; harder than you thought you were capable of. Everyday my athletes break down barriers and set new standards for themselves. My training is intense. With me you will sweat, possibly bleed, expose weaknesses and get stronger. With me there are no ego’s, no room for bad attitudes. Those type of people just don’t last with me.
I have been active in many sports in my lifetime. Among them are baseball, basketball, football, soccer, swimming, and track and field. Baseball and basketball were my two favorites and became my focus by the end of high school. Also during that time I became very active in strength and conditioning to fuel my gains and achievements in baseball and basketball. A knee injury eventually took my out as a serious competitor in basketball and later a shoulder injury took me out of baseball. However I was able to play baseball at the collegiate level (NCAA Division 3) before that injury relieved me from the game.
Session plans are individualized. However, just as an example:
Plan for a person looking to lose weight and build strength
5-10 minutes mobility (active stretching), warm-up, session overview
5 minutes technique review
20-30 minutes strength training
10-15 minutes interval cardio training
5-10 minutes mobility (active stretching), cool-down, and nutrition talk

Client Reviews
Jenny / Elementary School Teacher (Testimonial)
John worked with me to achieve my fitness goals. I knew nothing about exercise and nutrition. John was patient with me and gave me the motivation and confidence I needed in order to perform exercises and hit milestones I never thought possible for me. He also guided me in the right direction in the nutrition area allowing me to get to a weight and body composition that I could be proud of. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to lose weight, be healthier, or perform better athletically.
