More About Coach Joey
I have been coaching a variety of casual running athletes towards their first 5K, up to their 10th marathon for the past 2 and a half years. My in-person coaching is based in Stephenville, TX. I also offer online run coaching. In March of 2024 I received a a run coaching certification from Road Runners Club of America. I am in the process of pursuing further certification from RRCA and USATF.
I have completed several marathons, half marathons, 10ks and 5ks at the amateur level. I competed at the elite level in Obstacle Course Racing from 2016 through 2019.
A new perspective client should first expect a kick off interview and consultation to determine if I am a good fit for them and if they are a good fit for me. Then, after a discussion about current fitness and future short term and long term goals, I would develop a plan to discuss and alter as needed. But for a high level specific example, most marathon clients would see a weekly schedule comprised of 4-5 days a week of various running workouts. 2-3 easy pace runs, 1 strength building run, and 1 long endurance run would be a typical week. If the client is local, I would join them for a minimum of 1 run per month.
