Intro:
If you are looking to start or get back into a regular running program for recreation or to train for your goal race, allow me the opportunity to guide you through the process. I work with people of varying ages and abilities to improve their fitness and many have achieved PR's along the way. Thank you and I look forward to working with you.

Bio:
I have been running for the better part of 20 years starting back in my college days running 5K/10K races and after taking some time off began the process to get back into shape. In order to do this I went back to an old friend…the bike. I used road bike riding as a way to build back up my endurance and also to drop extra weight that would have put unneeded stress on my knees. I was then able to start running regularly and train for the 5K/10K distances again. Having built up a good base I decided to train for a Half-Marathon and completed my first back in 2004. Since then, I became a student of the sport learning various training techniques and strategies and used that knowledge to complete over 10 Half-Marathons and 5 Marathons. I continually seek out the latest knowledge on training techniques, nutritional information and cross-training methods to build strength and prevent injuries.

Coaching Technique:
I will take an assessment of each athlete to see where he or she are currently in their fitness, what they have done in the past and what they want to accomplish. We will also discuss past injuries so that I can identify stretching techniques to help prevent further injury and also provide cross-training strength building exercises to build up any weak points. Lastly, I will teach the Good From Running technique to provide each athlete pointers to correct any deficiencies in their running mechanics. This will include a video recording of current running form and once the GFR techniques are presented I will re-record to check on any further improvements needed.

Training Technique:
Now that a solid knowledge base has been determined we will start working on an individualized training program that will include both cross training and building your running foundation. Typical training sessions will include: tempo runs, speed work, easy (active recovery) runs and long, slow distance runs to build endurance.

Now...let's get to work!

While working with various athletes of differing skills and age, I have been able to train them to either complete their first 5K/10K or PR this distance or Half and Full Marathons.

I will first off do a 15-30 minute evaluation of the athletes past fitness/running history then I will do a running form evaluation to see if there are any inherit deficiencies. From there I will develop a running schedule and strength and conditioning program to build a solid base.

Getting back to running after 20 years is difficult.. I am thoroughly impressed by how Jeoff has helped me thru the getting back to running.
