More About Coach Jeffrey
Varsity high school level coach. Currently, assistant Sprints coach at San GORGONIO High School. I specialize in maximizing athlete speed, acceleration, and technique for short-distance events (55m–400m). I design programs focusing on biomechanics, power development, and injury prevention, often prioritizing speed mechanics over high-volume conditioning. Key focuses include acceleration angles, max velocity, and tailored training loads.
Played college level baseball. Made the switch to training athletes in multiple sports throughout the years after my playing days!
Core Components of a Sprint Coach's Approach:
Technique & Mechanics: Emphasizing proper acceleration angles, "negative foot speed" (foot moving backward upon impact), and staying relaxed to improve efficiency.
My focus is on mechanics and proper sprint techniques to include, block starts, max velocity, & speed endurance. Strength training is also incorporated in a holistic training plan!
Core Components of a Sprint Coach's Approach:
Technique & Mechanics: Emphasizing proper acceleration angles, "negative foot speed" (foot moving backward upon impact), and staying relaxed to improve efficiency.
Training Phases:
GPP (General Physical Preparation): Foundation building with high-knee drills, short sprints, and heavy lifting (cleans, squats).
Max Velocity/Competition: Developing top-end speed using flying 30-meter runs.
