Jeff P.

Jeff has been a professional swimming coach for over 20 years, and is currently certified by the American Swim Coaches’ Association at level 5 (the top 5% of swimming coaches in the U.S.). For the years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2012 he was honored as Sierra Nevada Swimming’s Senior Coach of the Year. He was also named the National Club Swimming Association Coach of the Year for 2002 and awarded the American Swim Coaches Association Award of Excellence in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2008, Jeff was named to the USA National Team Coaching Staff and was a coach for Team USA at the FINA World Youth Games in Monterrey, Mexico. In 2010, he was named the Head Women's Coach for the USA National Youth Team and took the team to the Mare Nostrum in Barcelona Spain. In 2012, two of Jeff's developmental athletes went on to win medals in the London Olympic Games.

Jeff began coaching in 1986 with Masters and Recreational summer teams in the Bay Area and Sacramento Area. During 1994 and 1995, Jeff was the head age group coach at Swim Sacramento as well as the head coach of the Rancho Arroyo Masters team until he took over the coaching reigns with the Sierra Marlins in 1995. During his 17 years with the Sierra Marlins, he transformed a small recreational team of 50 swimmers into a regional and national powerhouse with over 500 registered swimmers. While there, he coached USA National Champions, Olympic Trial finalists and a multitude of All Americans.

Jeff is very active in the swimming community and previously served as the Senior Chair for Sierra Nevada Swimming and was the Chairman of the California and Nevada Sectional Committee. He has also been a speaker at the ASCA World Coaches Clinic and the Nor Cal Coaches Clinic.

Jeff received a bachelors of science in Exercise Physiology from the University of California – Davis (1994).

As an athlete, Jeff was a member of the USA Swimming National Team and won the USA Swimming National Championships in the 10K Open Water twice (1992 and 1993) as well as several wins in other major open water swimming races. He was also a three time high school All American and four time collegiate All American. Jeff still holds the United States Masters Swimming 2 mile cable swim National record.

A 60 minute private instructional session is designed around your specific goals and will utilize underwater video analysis of your stroke. After your session, you will receive a link to your video analysis which you can refer back to prior to your workouts.
