More About Coach James
I have been a coach/scout with the National Underclassmen Combine (NUC) since 2007. With the NUC, I have trained, evaluated, and ranked middle and high school aged football players of all positions, but my expertise lies with offensive and defensive lineman. From 2004 - 2006, I was an assistant coach with the Kean University football team in Union, NJ. At Kean University I coached offensive line, tight ends, and running backs. I am a member of the American Football Coaches Association.
I was a three year starter for The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) football team at offensive tackle (one year) and center (two years). I made 31 consecutive starts and was team captain in my senior year. Also during my senior year, our offense lead the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) in scoring and rushing; plus I was named to the All-NJAC Team.
I played high school football for Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS. I was a 3 year starter on OL and DL, and senior year I was named to the All-Union County Team.
My training sessions will focus on the traditional fundamentals of playing offensive or defensive line, and always begin with proper stretching and a warm-up. Stance and footwork will be something that is always worked on, but sessions will alternate working on a number of different run or pass techniques/drills. A group session would also likely include some sort of competition element. Finally, most sessions will end with conditioning drills.
