More About Coach Jacob

This is my first year of coaching strength and conditioning. I started as an intern at Bando Performance and worked my way to a strength and conditioning coach position. Through my time at Bando Performance, I have worked with athletes all the way from the youth ranks to the professional ranks. I have spent a majority of my time at Bando coaching athletes in the middle school to early high school age range. I have no certifications but am open to and plan on getting some.

I was a hockey player from the age of 3-24. I played junior hockey in the NCDC and EHL, along with winning a championship in the EHL with the Boston Jr Rangers during the covid era of amateur sports. I played at the NCAA Division 3 level for SUNY Brockport playing in the SUNYAC for three years and the UCHC for one.

The sessions I would run will follow the typical Bando Performance format. Mobility --> Dynamic Warm-Up --> Sprints with the 1080 --> Jumps and Med Ball Throws --> Weightlifting --> Energy System Specific Conditioning. Mainly working with youth athletes in the middle school age range, I really try to focus on the fluidity of movement in all three planes of movement. The best athletes are the best movers so hammering in the basic fundamentals that will evolve and development over time at a young age is only going to benefit them five-ten years down the line. Not only will I be teaching them to move better, I will give them the skills and confidence on how to act and how to be self-sufficient in a gym setting.
