More About Coach Jackson
I’m a USATF certified track & field coach and current distance running coach at Wakefield High School for Cross Country and Track. I have primarily worked with high schoolers but I’m looking forward to coaching a wide variety of age groups in events ranging from the 800 to the marathon. In my first year at the high school level, I helped coach the cross country team to their first regionals appearance in more than 15 years; helped coach the boys indoor track team to a district championship and runner-up finish at regionals; had 2 individual distance state qualifiers (1000m, 3200m) during indoor track, 3 individual state qualifiers (800m) during outdoor track, and a relay (girls 4x800) state qualifier and 7th place finisher during outdoor track. Also had 6 New Balance & Adidas Nationals qualifiers between the two track seasons (800m, 1 mile, and 4x800 indoors, 800m and 4x800 outdoors).
I am the reigning USATF Masters state and regional champion in the 800m and 1500m, and national bronze medalist in the 1500m. I also compete unattached in NCAA track meets, and am a competitive age group runner in the local road racing scene. I have PR's of 4:27 for 1500m, 17:17 for 5K, and I'm still working towards ambitious goals.
In my experience building a strong relationship and fostering trust is the key to success with athletes. Running success relies on so much more than just physical fitness—nutrition, sleep, strength, and the mental aspect are just as important—running is a holistic sport. I like to help my athletes see the bigger picture of how their decisions, circumstances, and well-being off the track factors into performance. On the track, I’m supportive and give constructive, honest feedback. Distance training with me includes lots of intervals, speedwork, long runs, drills, stability and strength work, and plenty of easy base miles.

Client Reviews
Noemi (CoachUp client)
Coach Jackson is an excellent coach! Both of my kids are learning, and I've noticed real improvements in their confidence and skills. I really appreciate his attention to each of my kids and the quality of his training. Highly recommend Coach J!
Karthik (CoachUp client)
Coach Jackson demonstrates excellent attention to detail and provides comprehensive session-by-session documentation, including specific performance metrics and clear homework assignments. The training approach is well-structured, starting with fundamental fitness building before event specialization, and includes measurable benchmarks (like the 30m sprint at 3.85s and 200m at 38s) to track progress. He shows genuine care for the athlete's development by adapting workouts when needed (such as during illness).
Kori (CoachUp client)
My son had a great session…it was his first introduction to track as a highschool student. He left smiling, feeling challenged, but also proud of what he learned. He said coach Jackson was nice and fun to work with …
A.C. (high school athlete) (Testimonial)
Thank you so much for these great past two track seasons. I never saw myself running at regionals and running the times that I ran, and I am so excited to have you as my coach for the next year.
