More About Coach Jackie
I’m a UESCA-certified running coach with a lifelong passion for endurance sports. I’ve worked with athletes of all levels—from beginners training for their first 5K to experienced marathoners looking to set new personal records. I also coach runners returning after injury or postpartum, drawing from my own experience running marathons during pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
I offer 1:1 personalized coaching and group programs, both in-person in Lake County, Illinois and virtually for athletes across the country. My clients range in age from kids as young as 6 to adult recreational and competitive runners.
I focus on building custom training plans that align with each athlete’s goals, lifestyle, and fitness level. My approach blends endurance training, injury prevention, strength work, and mental resilience—helping every athlete feel supported, motivated, and empowered throughout their journey.
While I didn’t compete at the collegiate or professional level, I’m a lifelong runner with a deep passion for the sport. I’ve completed 8 full marathons, and have run countless 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons—so many that I’ve truly lost count! Some of my proudest accomplishments include running marathons during pregnancy and postpartum, a testament to my commitment and love for the sport.
Though I haven't chased podiums, I’ve consistently trained for performance, resilience, and longevity in the sport—values I bring to the athletes I coach. My experience as both an athlete and coach helps me support runners of all levels with empathy, motivation, and real-world knowledge.
A typical session with me is always goal-driven, personalized, and supportive. Whether we’re meeting in person or virtually, I tailor every workout to the athlete’s current fitness level, training phase, and long-term goals.
Sessions often include a dynamic warm-up to activate muscles and improve mobility, followed by run-specific drills such as strides, form cues, cadence work, or hill repeats—depending on the day’s focus. For beginners, we may use a walk/run structure to build endurance safely. For advanced runners, we might focus on speed intervals, tempo efforts, or race-pace work.
After the main set, we always cool down and review stretching, mobility, and recovery techniques. I also incorporate strength and stability work when appropriate—especially core, glute, and single-leg exercises to support running form and injury prevention.
Every session is designed to challenge you, support your growth, and help you build confidence. I believe in consistent feedback and open communication, so you always know the "why" behind what we’re doing.
