More About Coach Henderson
I am a professional track and field high jumper who has been competing professionally since 2006. I am the current Barbados national record holder with a jump of 7ft 4.5 inches which I set in 2008. I hold a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas of El Paso and am a certified USATF Level 1 Coach. I am currently the high jump coach at St Thomas Aquinas High School, Boyd Anderson High School, Boca Raton High School and private athletes.
My coaching roster currently includes middle and high school athletes high jumpers.
Some highlights:
Overall for the 2017 season:
*4A Girls high jump champion and *2nd place finisher.
*3A Girls high jump champion
-3A Boys 6th place
-2A Boys 4th and 8th place first time qualifiers after high jumping only 7 weeks prior to state championships
2017- Currently my freshman high jumper from St Thomas Aquinas open up her season with a jump of 5'9 which is currently #1 in Florida. she went onto win the 2017 FHSAA 4A high jump and 2nd place is also my jumper from the 4A division from Felix Varela Senior HS.
Following close behind her is 2 others I train one from Boyd Anderson HS and the other from North East HS both jumped 5'6. My North east HS jumper won the 3A high jump at the 2017 FHSAA.
The boys have opened up well for themself both from Boyd Anderson HS one at 6'6.5 and the other at 6'2. I am very happy with the progress is early in the season. Stay tunes for a lot more great results to comw your way....
- one of my top middle school female athletes won gold at the 2015 AAU Junior Olympics with a 1.70m (5'7) jump and additional attempts at 5'8 3/4 which would have been a new National Record for her age group. Currently in 8th grade she is now preparing for a fantastic 2016 season.
- High school freshman girl has raised her personal record from 1.52m in 2014 to 1.65m in 2015.
- High School 7th grader girl a multi-eventer has raised the bar from 1.37m in 2014 to 1.55m in 2015.
- High School senior jumper has raised the bar from 1.85m(6'1) in 2014 to 1.98m(6'6) in 2015 and now off to full ride scholarship at Univ of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
- High School senior from has ended his high school season at 6ft.10inches and went onto Morehouse University last August.
- 2017 season will be highlighted with now all freshman in high school and some of them will be going for the state title especially my middle school phenom 'Z' who jumped 5'7 last year.

Plyometric exercises which consist of hurdle hops, pool workouts, sand drills, core work, approaches, bar clearance, take off work, sprints and lifting, video analysis of self and other high jumpers.
