More About Coach Eric

I have served as head coach, linebackers coach and defensive coordinator at both the 7th and 8th grade levels at Campbell Middle School, Cobb County, Georgia for 5 years (2002-2008). I was given the opportunity to serve as the freshman defensive coordinator at Campbell High School for the 2008-2009 season and since then, I have obtained my community coach accreditation from the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) which is required to serve as a coach if you are not employed with the school system (Community Coach). In 2009, I became the Assistant Head Coach of the freshman (6-1) football team at Lithia Springs High School in Douglas County, Georgia. In 2010, I moved to the offensive side of the ball as well as making a vertical move to become the varsity running backs coach for Lithia Springs. After our 2010 season, my knowledge and passion for the defensive side of the ball has prompted my Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator to assign me to coach the varsity defensive backs as well as become the head coach of the junior varsity; positions that I held up through 2013. Most recently, I was contacted by a former HC at Lithia Springs to come join his staff as the Defensive Coordinator at North Springs High School in Atlanta; a position that I emphatically accepted. While coaching in these various leadership positions over the last 11 years, I have brought continued success in meeting the overall school program goals at both levels and I believe I am poised for a new challenge. I believe this experience can and will be a catalyst in helping individuals reach their full potential as a football players.
What I bring to the coaching position is a combination of leadership, strategic planning and player development skills. My organizational skills and attention to details as well as my constant studying of the game has allowed me to analyze/evaluate player abilities and attitudes. This has helped me implement the most appropriate football fundamentals throughout my career and has led to the development of a solid coaching philosophy and personal approach football.
In previous positions as coordinator, head coach and positional coach, with the help of fellow coaches, I have helped increase player performance and motivated various teams to meet the Campbell and Lithia Springs programs achieve their respective season objectives and goals. Because my success in these areas covers multiple levels of competition, I am confident I can do the same for prospective athletes.

My résumé contains additional details regarding my coaching career accomplishments. I would welcome an opportunity for a personal interview to discuss your child's needs and the results you can expect from me in addressing those needs. I would certainly welcome an opportunity to make a contribution to helping an athlete that is dedicated to shaping his football and professional career. Thank you in advance for your time and review of my qualifications and I look forward to working with you in the future.

I played 12 years of football, from little league to semi-pro and was successful individually and collectively at all levels at one point or another. As a coach, although as of late, the win-loss record does not reflect it, by helping players finish high school and move on to college as athletes or students, that is rewarding in and of itself. My goal is to continue to move up the coaching ladder and continue to be a positive role model and avenue for young men to improve their lives as football players and young men of the future

A typical session would start out with a complete total body warm-up that could utilize up to 21 minutes. After the warm-up is complete, depending upon the needs and goals of the athlete, we will focus on technique, endurance, speed, quickness and explosion. This initial session will serve as an assessment of the athlete, an assessment to measure where the athlete is physically to ensure that each and every workout is efficient and provides growth and development. Although there will be EDDs or "Every Day Drills", we will switch the workout up daily to avoid monotony and "burn out". another important note regarding our workouts, is although I focus on football, if the athlete is involved in other sports, the drills and exercises will be pertinent to the development as a complete athlete.
The workouts are geared to push you to the limits, hopefully my student athlete will like me as a person, but at the end of the day, I am not there to be his or her friend, I am there to make them better and "“ONLY THE PLAYERS WHO ARE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE WILL BECOME CHAMPIONS”
To end a session, we will leave 15-20 minutes to include "chalk talk", a question and answer period that will focus on football Xs and Os with regards to the defensive side of the ball.
