More About Coach Earl

I am currently the Sprints, Hurdles, and Jumps Coach at Queen's University. Before Queen's, I coached all Sprints, Hurdles, Jumps, and Throws events at Belmont Abbey College. As an athlete I competed in the Decathlon and Mid-Distance events. I have had experience in every area that I have coached with my best success being in training 400 meter runners and High Jumpers. I have also USATF Level 3 Sprints/Hurdle Clinics, and have my USTFCCCA Strength & Conditioning Certification.

I competed for Belmont Abbey College as well. My junior season I lead the NCAA Division 2 nation with most All-Region events (5) including the: Decathlon, 800, Javelin, High Jump, and 1500. I was named All-Region 13 times and was a 2 time Conference Champion.

A lot of my coaching styles stem from the teachings of Charlie Francis, which includes vertical integration training. Training all different energy systems and muscles but focusing on the most important at the correct part of the season. The training's include a dynamic warm up, sprint drill series, the primary workout of that day, body weight training (whether general strength, plyo's, or bounds) and a cool down/stretch.

Client Reviews

Coach Earl could immediately identify the areas that were causing our daughter to have a poor running style. After even just one session we could see a difference. Definitely worth the time!

Awesome coach!! Been working with my son On high jump three weeks now and already broke his PR! Would highly recommend!

Coach has been outstanding with our daughter so far through the first two sessions, and we plan to continue with his coaching through the upcoming season. He's very patient, pays attention to the details, and has a great working knowledge of track-and-field events. He's coaching our high-schooler to throw discuss, and already she's more confident as he's taken the time to thoroughly explain the mechanics needed to improve her technique. Thank you Coach!

Awesome. Morgan really enjoyed working with him. Lots done in first session. Looking forward to next!

Coach Earl knows track and field and he was extremely helpful in teaching me all of the mechanics involved in the javelin throw. He was very thorough and worked with me until I succeeded in every drill. I would recommend him for any athlete participating in track and field.

Great coach. Very good at explaining the mechanics of the throws.
