More About Coach Dwayne

Growing up in Oakland, CA I became heavily involved in football as a means to participate in something positive and to stay out of trouble! Football opened doors for me that otherwise would not have opened, it eventually further my opportunities educationally and professionally. Football for me has been a way of life, being an athlete has taught me life skills such as team work, confidence, perseverance, dedication and that with the right attitude and hard work anything is possible.

In high school, I played varsity football for McClymonds High School as a Linebacker. I received All City Honors my junior and senior years, and as a senior I was nominated Team Captain. From there, I went on to receive a scholarship to The University of Akron and played Defensive End for 4 years. I was a freshman All American and the was nominated Team Captain my senior year. Being a colligate athlete shaped me into a well rounded, driven and motivated young man, I was then able to go back to McClymonds High School and train young student athletes. With this full circle experience it sparked my desire to assist as many young athletes as possible in having the same opportunity that I had. After college I went on to play 2 seasons in the Canadian Football League as a Linebacker and Defensive End, 4 total seasons in the Arena Football League as both a Linebacker and Defensive End and one season in the United Football League.

From these experiences I have received top of the line training across the US and worked one-on-one with many NFL trainers and professional athletes. Between football seasons, I have been a volunteer coach at Desert Ridge High School in North Scottsdale as well as at Scottsdale Community College. Most recently I volunteered at Washington Heights admissions department in Milwaukee, WI helping students apply for college. I also volunteered at Kettle Moraine High School (in Wauaesha, WI) and trained their junior varsity and varsity football teams. After many wonderful and rewarding years as a professional athlete, I have decided to hang up my cleats and focus on the next generation, this is my passion. I enjoy training kids of all ages, all levels and all athletic arenas/backgrounds because I know I can make a difference not only in the sport they play but in their overall future and well being. My goal is to build the young athletes appreciation for their sport of choice, to grow their confidence on and off the field/court and to help him/her reach their athletic goals. All sessions start with a warm up and then focus on techniques, footwork, agility, speed, power, and of course include some fun! We will focus on learning the RIGHT techniques to use against opponents, how to anticipate plays defensively and plot out strategic offensive moves. It is my goal to get these athletes to the next level. After each session I will personally challenge my athlete to ensure that in a competitive environment they are using the correct techniques and are thinking on their toes

Coach Dwayne did a great job at making of making my son feel immediately comfortable, and put him straight to work after a few questions. Easily one of the best one on one training sessions by a coach, that my son has been put through... My son asked, "when we could set up the next training session", and that's big! Thank you Coach Dwayne...

Coach Dwayne is amazing, very prefecient in targeting what needs to be worked on. It's hard to find a man who a 17 year old not only respects but appreciates. Coach Dwayne has done both for my son he looks forward to his trading sessions with coach, we can't thank you enough for all your help

Coach Dwayne has already made a difference in my son's performance with his Pop Warner team. He comes prepared with a lot of equipment and training techniques that he tailors to the positions that my son currently plays and the ones he wants to play. He has been focusing on footwork, speed, how to stand before the snap, and effective blocking techniques. Coach Dwayne is observant, patient and can relate well to kids. I highly recommend Coach Dwayne!

Coach Dwayne was great with my son! He taught him some great skills and gave him confidence as well. Highly recommend!

Coach Dwayne did a great job at our 1st session. He worked really well with my son and explained every drill and what he expected. I am very happy with Dwayne, the day after our session my son had a flag football game and I saw him applying some the techniques coach Dwayne taught him.

Dwayne was really good at showing and telling my kids what he expected, then patient until he was satisfied about moving on to the next drill. He also really knows what he is talking about when it comes to defense and the game. No doubt my sons defensive game will improve drastically!

Coach Dwayne gave me a great first workout. He's fun, knows a lot about football, knows the techniques and skills I'm looking for, and I am looking forward to working with him throughout the spring
