More About Coach Doug
I am certified by The National Exercise and Sports Trainer Association (NESTA) and by Z-Health in Essentials with an Associate’s Degree in Kinesiology, and I played three years in the Boston Red Sox Baseball Organization. As a Personal Trainer working at Strength Conditioning and Fitness Institute, my main focus with clients is the Fundamentals of Fitness.
My baseball carrier with the Boston Red Sox ended when I had to have surgery for a torn labrum and a small bone spur in my right shoulder. I also suffered from tendonitis in my right elbow. My injuries were caused by a combination of many factors, but it is my opinion the main reason was from poor body posture and improper weight lifting techniques.
It is essential to know what muscles to use in certain situations when working out. For example, my big flaw was that I always had a forward lean with my shoulders and used improper techniques when lifting weights in high school and college. If I would have known what I know now, there is a good chance I never would have had shoulder surgery and would still be playing baseball in the major leagues.
To avoid major injuries, it is essential to understand your body, proper body posture and how to work out correctly. By understanding your body and what workout techniques are correct or not correct. those shoulder, knee and or back pains you are currently experiencing could go away making your work out experience much more pleasurable.

The way I like to do things is to get every client that I have to reach their goals. If not then I have failed as a fitness coach. I start off the lessons with a lot of strength tests to make sure everything is up to par. I use a series of FMS and Z-Health tests to show the client what she/he needs to work on.
What is Z-Health? Z-Health is a precise training system that uses specific joint-based techniques to teach you how to move with pain-free control, confidence and coordination. Z-Health is very different from traditional training programs because it focuses not on your muscles, but on your joints and the small, vitally important, nerves that surround them. So use the joints to train the nerves. Z-Health was specifically designed to teach you to use your joints to tap into the fastest and most stable of all your body systems: your nervous system. It is the one system that responds instantly, regardless of whether you are 9 or 90, and it is the secret to the ultra-fast effects of Z-Health.
Once you get how to use this system the fitness world opens up. Movements start to get easier, pain starts to go down, and everything else. Isn't that what fitness is all about? Ask your self this, "How do I get myself better and how do i get there?" Train with a professional who has been there and done that. This system is build to make athletes.

John (Testimonial)
I rated Doug a 10/10 because I get motivation to do something I can’t do on my own!!! I have been a ongoing battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 13 years. Had back fusion and neck fusion. Also plates in spine as well. I feel stronger and more flexible and can move better that ever and still am improving.
Terri (Testimonial)
Doug challenges me more than ever I rate him a 10/10!!! I am in my early 50s and suddenly realized that my mother has arthritis and back problems and if I didn’t lose weight and take better care of myself I would face the same issues later on(I had not taken care of myself because I had been busy taking care of my children-new they are grown.
