Derik "butch" H.

I'm a former running back for the University of Texas in Austin. In high school in Kirbyville, Texas, I scored 24 touchdowns in my senior year for the Wildcats. I was 1990 conference newcomer of the year for the Longhorns and held a freshman rushing record for years. My highlights included a 117-yards rushing in the Cotton Bowl versus the Miami Hurricanes, 75 yards versus the Mississippi State Bulldogs and a big 166-yard game versus the Red Raiders of Texas Tech.

I have extensive experience in both on and off the field. I spent two years in the National Football League with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. My additional pro football experience included three years in the Canadian Football League with the Shreveport Pirates and Toronto Argonauts.

My indoor experience is based on three years in the Arena Football League as a player and a coach. I had coached with Turfcats' coaches Chris Duliban and Kerry Cash with the Austin Rockers, and I played for Coach Duliban with the Texas Terminators. At that time, I was third in the Indoor Professional Football League for rushing and fourth in scoring.

I was also actively involved locally in the community with neighborhood sports a non-profit organization, working with the NFL Youth Flag Football League. I was the director in Pflugerville, Texas and has been associated with the organization for seven years.

I was newcomer of the year in 1990. Third on University of Texas scoring for most touchdowns in a game by a truefreshman.
