More About Coach Deniz

With over 5 years of strength coaching experience, I have been fortunate to have working with swimmers of all levels: pros, college, high school, masters, and age group. In 2013, I helped coach WR-holder Cesar Cielo to 2 World Championship gold medals in the 50-m free and fly. From there I went on to coach the University of Utah swim & dove team for 3 years while earning my MS degree in exercise and sport science mixed with sport psychology.
Now running my own enterprise, both locally and remotely around the US and world to help swimmers reach their true potential while staying healthy.

Born and raised in Sweden, I hold medals in youth, junior, and senior level swimming in the sprint breaststroke events. Trained by Ryan Lochte’s father, Steve Lochte at Daytona State College earning NJCAA runner-up titles and All-American mentions before transferring to Arizona State University. Swam several PAC-12 finals and received several All-Academic team mentioned and Rookie of the year.

Expect a full physical evaluation to find the swimmers athletic blue print: body composition, power, strength, endurance, and movement ability. From there, an individualized program is build to optimize swimming performance by focusing on health (shoulder, back and knees), then power.
Our main objective is to make the swimmer as dynamic and athletic as possible by complex functional movements with heavy emphasis on core stability and strength before progressing into Olympic lifting introduction with correct posture and feet positioning to optimize power.

Client Reviews

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Deniz. I saw him give a presentation to a Division 1 swim team and I was highly impressed with his knowledge of swimming and his knowledge of connecting out of the pool work with the in the pool necessities of a swimmer. We implemented a lot of the stretches, mobility exercises, and strengthening exercises into our program this summer with our Senior level swimmers. It made a huge difference! Improved flexibility. Greater length of stroke. Stronger and more stable core. And a lot of fast swimming! I am so grateful for being able to implement the Swimmer Strength program into our daily routine. It’s a way to make sure your swimmers are understanding that swimming in the water isn’t the only way to get better. If you are doing the correct things outside the water that connects to improving thing in the water, results will definitely come.
