More About Coach David

I started my training career when I was a senior at Oak Ridge high school. I was undersized, and determined to gain weight to prepare myself for college football. I spent hours researching different training methods and then started to write up my own plans for myself, and whoever else wanted to improve their athletic ability. My current job is at Full Throttle Fitness in el dorado hills where I have been in charge of group training classes for football, baseball, and soccer, ages 8-17. I was also a group trainer at Hard 90 baseball academy training with ages 10-15.

I have played football for 9 seasons. 4 in the el dorado hills youth program, 4 at Oak Ridge high school, and one season at sierra college. I also played lacrosse for 3 years at the high school level. I lettered in both sports twice, and was a starter for all 11 games my freshman year at sierra college and earned defensive player of the week for week 6.

I am a technician, meaning before I introduce my client to new material, I make sure their technique is flawless. Without good technique their can be injury, and workouts wont be as effective. When I work with my speed athletes we always spend a lot of time on the agility ladder, along with the agility hurdles. I also use the weighted sleds and medicine balls to amplify workouts. Depending on the age of the athlete we may or may not get too serious with weight training. If we can't use weights, I am very familiar with resistance training to achieve the same effect. Training sessions will always include plenty of water breaks for hydration, and I always hold time at the end of a session for stretching. My training is not limited to the gym. I can also help with nutrition plans and at-home workouts for those days that the client is unable to get to the gym.
