A typical session lasts 60 minutes. The #1 rule of each session is to have fun. If you aren't having fun the lesson is pointless. I use techniques and drills specific to each player after evaluating them. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, so everyone's lessons are player specific based on improving your overall game. I use Major League and Minor League drills as well as some that I have developed to achieve this. Tee work is very important in my lessons, as hitting instruction is my specialty. Anyone can be a batter but to be a hitter you have to know what your doing, and I enjoy teaching my students how to be a hitter.

My son (almost 13) has had many hitting sessions over the years, from a variety of coaches. Coach David was unique in that he immediately recognized 1) my son was a good contact hitter, 2) my son hits more ground balls than he should, 3) he lacks gap power needed for doubles. The entire session was working on a few technical issues, using a variety of techniques. In fact, they never went beyond soft-toss, which seemed unusual at first. But in several days since, I can tell my son is hitting the ball more squarely and with more power. A different kind of session, but just what he needed.

I am currently a college baseball player. I discovered Coach Dave while in Florida for the summer for baseball. I have worked with many coaches. I've worked with pro scouts, former professional baseball players, and professional hitting coaches. Out of all of them Coach Dave has improved my swing faster than any coach I've preciously worked with. His drills really teach the right fundamentals for hitting. In just my first session he was able to quickly assess my swing flaws, and knew directly how to attack them. His knowledge of the game as a whole is incredible. Coach David is amazing. He works so well with our son and our son enjoys working with him. Coach does usually have at least one day a week in Altamonte which is closer to us but we chose to drive the hour to Celebration for the lesson so we can do the lessons on the weekend - but we are happy to do it because it is worth every minute in return for what our son is learning. Great coach!! Knows his stuff, I would recommend him to anyone looking to take their game to another level.

I hesitate on giving a review after just one session especially without seeing live pitching results. That said the issue I identified but could not fix was addressed immediately and we are on the path toward making a fix that is permanent. My son and Coach worked very hard in the first session and the next day he asked to go out and work on what he was taught. It's been a while since he's volunteered to do tee work. We will see where we are after our next session and then after he is tested in a game situation. If the first session is any indication he will be in a much better place.
