Former Head Football Coach/Assistant Athletic Director at a National NJCAA & SWAC Junior College in California. 35+ High School Football Coach in California and North Carolina. The “Director of Football Operations” at EM Speed & Power Training in Rancho Cucamonga. I am the Co-Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator for (10) Time National Champion & (8) X State Champion “OG DUCKS” 14U Travel Football Team. I have Coached/Trained Football Players in High School, College and NFL Players in the Off-Season Training for 41 years. I have been sending kids to college since 1982 to 2022.

Our list of players currently playing at Top Level Division 1 Schools is "Enormous". I work with mainly with Skill Players (DB's, WR's, RB's & LB's). Many Players in the NFL, Canadian and Arena Football League, as well as Divisions 1, 1AA, 2, 3, HSBC & NAIA.

At EM Speed & Power Training Centers in California. We have a “Facility School & Online School” in Rancho Cucamonga and Long Beach with Facilities in Corona, San Diego and San Bernardino. We have been Approved for Membership in C.I.F. and will be fielding a HS Football Team shortly, as well as all other High School Sports

Played at West Los Angeles Junior College & Cal-State University Northridge. Where I was awarded All-Conference Defensive Back and Played 5 years of Semi-Pro Football (California) and tried out for the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints. I have (4) High School C.I.F. Championships (Centennial HS - Corona) as a Coach, (10) National Championships, (8) California State Championships (I.E. & OG Ducks). We have produced current star players such as Bryce Young (Alabama), Elias Ricks (Alabama), Tate Martel (Ohio State), JT Daniels (USC), Jaylen Shaw (UCLA), Bookie Radley-Hines (Oklahoma) Jaylen Redd (Oregon), Tyjon Lindsey (Nebraska), Jaden Woodbey (Florida State), Hank Backmeir (Bosie State), JJ Taylor (New England Patriots/Arizona), and too many more to name in this space.

We always cover Position Specific Drills & Technique for all Skills Positions. Normally my workouts last between 30 minutes and 90 minutes depending on how athletes are in the session. We also cover Speed & Conditioning, Individuals, 7 on 7, Route and Coverage Recognition, LB Reads and Reacts and RB Progressions (All Phases). One of my former players played in (4) Super Bowls and is now a Defensive coordinator in the NFL.

Coach Darryl was great. Was able to breakdown the training program so my son truly understood it. My son is very excite to be working with him.

My son is 14 and he just had our first session with Coach Johnson. My son has teained with other great coaches for different positions and Coach DJ measures up with the best of them. In just the one session my son worked with him, Coach DJ flooded him with knowledge. He trained on Sunday and after his training he went home and watched NFL games and was amused because he saw a lot of the techniques that coach went over with him just a few hours before. Additionally, he is very intuitive as far his athletes abilities and experience level and will customize a plan for maximum improvement. My son worked hard with him and we got in the car after the session, I wasn't sure what his reaction was going to be, his eaxct words were, "this guys is the real deal" I asked if he wanted to continue working with Coach DJ and he was adamant that he did want to. It's only been one session but as I mentioned my son has worked with other coaches so we know what's out there and it's obvious Coach DJ cares about his athletes and has a passion for what he does.
