If you are looking for tools to optimize your personal health and well being on a holistic level, Come To Being Yoga is the right fit for you. I am a 500hr college certified and registered Yoga teacher (CYT/RYT) available to customize yoga sequencing to accommodate all levels of yoga students. With extensive hours of teaching experience, college level (2 yr) yoga occupational certification and 20 + years of personal yoga practice, I will consider specific needs of the individual to develop progressive yoga sequences to help you gain the many benefits of yoga.
I offer private and group teachings, available with location options consisting of private in-studio, in-home and corporate office settings.
I have had clients of all ages, from children to 70+. Clients include golfers, athletes, former professional athletes, medical professionals and retired professionals. All levels are encouraged and accommodated. Specializations include the use of props, diverse meditation techniques, sport-specific & restorative sequencing with specific training in accommodating individuals in the traumatic brain injury (TBI) community.

In addition to practicing yoga for more than 20 years, I have completed an occupational certificate in teaching yoga from Scottsdale Community College in their 500hr certified & registered training program. I continue to practice at Scottsdale Community College under the instruction of Junior Iyengar Certified teachers, highly trained with emphasis on body alignment, therapeutics and the use of a rope wall. I graduated the program with a 4.0 GPA with emphasis on Anatomy & Physiology, Philosophy, Meditation and Wellness and hold a Bachelor with a major in Sociology/Psychology. CPR/First Aid certified and currently working with diverse groups and individuals in corporate and institutional settings and private in-home sessions. Groups include autistic spectrum, disabilities, veterans, professional athletes, seniors and individuals of all ages, skill level and abilities using adaptive practices and continuing college studies and training to facilitate healthy and safe practice.
With each session we will assess your needs (taking into consideration any contraindications such as surgeries, range of motion, injuries, health concerns, postural limitations etc.) and sequence yoga postures accordingly. A personal yoga mat is required. Props are also an option and I feel they are a necessary tool to have available during sessions to progress safely and accommodate tightness and range of motion in postures. Sessions typically range from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours and we go from a structured warm-up to peak to cool-down full sequence varying postures with each session. Sequences can include beginning with standing postures, going to seated, to supine, restorative, or surya namaskar (sun salutations) and breath. Guided visualization and meditation can be incorporated into sessions.
