More About Coach Dale

I have coached baseball for the last seven years and train (individual / group) athletes at the middle school and high school level of the greater Seattle area covering the basic fundamentals of Americas past time.

I coached for South Highline Little League, served as the player recruitment officer and recently took the Head Softball coaching job at Ballard High School - Seattle.

I, Dale Griffith a Seattle native have been around the game of baseball since T-ball, first playing for the Nordstrom’s family who at the time lived in the Madrona, Washington area. I have 10+ years playing experience and knowledge of the game. I played little league baseball with both Seattle Central and Rainier, where I won the District 7 Little league championship in 2004-2005 and was named to several all-star selection teams. I went on to play my multi sports career (Football and Baseball) at Foster High School in Tukwila, Washington. I lettered 3-times in football, was nominated with the sportsmanship award and also honorable mention at the safety position in 2006-2007, was named co-captain in 2008-2009. In baseball, I was a 4-time letter men, played first base and outfield and won the team batting crown with a .300 average in my final season 2008-2009. Consequently, my baseball career was derailed by a shoulder injury suffered playing high school football and eventually lead to my decision of attending Bellevue Community college and Eastern Washington University to become a teacher on an academic scholarship.

During a typical session, a player can expect to have covered the basic fundamentals of Americas pastime.

Throwing: fielding the ball, locating the target, stepping and throwing using shuffle footwork.

Batting: back shoulder up, adjusting feet to (inside, middle, outside) pitch, and watching the ball hit the bat.

Base Running: getting out of the box, properly rounding the bag, advancing on the base path and always being alert.

Client Reviews

Coach Dale was great! My 8 year old son had fun and learned a ton. The lessons Dale taught immediately translated to results when it came to game day. Coach Dale was very informative, professional, and friendly. If you are looking for a great baseball coach I would highly recommend Coach Dale.

My 11 year-old son had a great time. Lots of new drills he hadn't done before. Adjustments to his batting stance that made an instant difference. Dale was patient and encouraging.

Coach Dale is very knowledgeable, and he has a very professional approach to coaching. My son has received a lot of coaching through his select baseball program, but Coach Dale offered insight and training methods that were very helpful. I would recommend coach Dale to any player at any level. He is a great coach and a very impressive man.

Coach Dale is great! My active six year old has had a blast and learned so much. My son was showing an interest in baseball, and not being very athletically inclined myself, I needed someone good with young kids who was willing to show him the basics. Dale was a perfect choice. He’s energetic, patient, and good at explaining the skills in a way kids can understand and remember. My son really enjoys his coaching sessions.

Coach Dale was super cool and my son is ready to work with him. My son is very athletic and is playing 2 years up for baseball which is fine physically but mentally/socially he is still very much 2 years younger than his teammates and I think Dale was able to really hone in on the lacking self confidence right away and we look forward to him being a mentor.

Thank you Dale for a great practice
Our son has been playing baseball for 7 years and you had some fantastic drills that he hasn't seen before and it's always great seeing a different view. You worked him hard and he walked away saying how much fun he had and he also said he walked away a better player. We can tell that you love the sport and love teaching the game by how encouraging you are along with making sure that he understands the scenarios and drills and being positive. After a rough year of the coaching in little league it is great to find a coach like you to actually want to teach the game and make our son feel more confident and a better player after his first lesson.

I finished up my first lesson with Coach Dale today, and it was wonderful! As an adult baseball fanatic who has never actually played myself, I immensely appreciated both his professionalism and enthusiasm. Coach Dale breaks everything down in simple terms, all while sharing valuable tips and having a lot of fun. I'm really looking forward to our future sessions!

Also, for anyone new to CoachUp, the platform made it incredibly easy to connect with Coach Dale and coordinate all the logistics, like scheduling and payment. Highly recommend!

We just had the first lesson. He was really passionate and wonderful to work with kids.
Thanks coach!

My 9 yr. old son had a really great lesson with coach Dale. He was super positive, helped him with several areas in his batting, base running, catching, throwing fundamentals and really encouraged him in his development. We look forward to continuing to work with coach Dale.
