More About Coach Connor

Currently, I have a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State University (MSU) and I am now a Graduate Assistant in the Physical Education and Exercise Science Department at MSU while working towards a Masters degree in Exercise Science. I am also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the strength and conditioning coach for the Montclair State University baseball team. I design and supervise the off-season and in-season strength and conditioning program for the baseball team at MSU, as well as conducting fitness testing to evaluate the team prior to and after the program. I have also gained valuable experiencing interning with the strength and conditioning staff at Seton Hall University and assisted with all 14 Division I varsity sports. Outside of the collegiate setting, I am an assistant sports performance coach at a private training facility. The final area of coaching that I have been apart of is coaching a 14u travel baseball team for two years.

I have experience playing collegiate baseball at both the Division I and III levels. I played 1 year at Division I, Wagner College, while finishing up my final 3 years of eligibility at Montclair State University. During the 2014 season, I lead the MSU baseball team in stolen bases and was 2nd in runs scored. I was selected to the 2011 NEC All-Academic Team during my time at Wagner College, and elected to the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Academic Team while at Montclair State University.

Prior to conducting any physical training, I require all new clients to fill out a physical activity readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q), medical healthy history form, and a needs analysis which includes: client's goals, training history, and sport history. Upon completion, the client goes through a movement screening to look for any imbalances in the body and/or physical weaknesses or limitations. After the movement screening, the client then completes a sport-specific, fitness testing protocol. I then take all of the details gathered from the forms, movement screening, and fitness testing to design an INDIVIDUALIZED training program to meet, or exceed their desired goals.
