More About Coach Cole
I have been coaching collegiately for 4+ years and began coaching in 2018 after graduating college. I began my coaching career with stops at Cloverdale High School (2018), John Glenn High School (2019-2020), and Westfield High School (2021). At each school, I had to opportunity to coach freshman through seniors with athletes reaching at least the regional round if not the state finals for both boys and girls. In the fall of 2021, I received a phone call and interview to coach at IU Indianapolis (formerly IUPUI) and have been coaching Women's Track and Field here since (focusing on sprints, hurdles, jumps, multis, and relays).
During my time coaching, I have always been an advocate of being a lifelong learner. In this pursuit, I have obtained USATF Level 2 certifications in Sprints/Hurdles/Relays, Jumps, and Throws as well becoming a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy.
As an athlete at Wabash College, I was a multiple time All-NCAC athlete (400H, 4x400, Heptathlon, Decathlon), a NCAC Indoor Champion in the 800m, and a multiple time NCAC Champ in the 4x4 (indoor and outdoor). At the end of my collegiate career, I was able to celebrate being a 2-Year Captain (voted by my peers), a 4-year letter award winner, and I received multiple team awards centered around mental fortitude, team leadership, and outstanding performance.
First and foremost, I will create a great relationship with the athlete. During training, there will be plenty of opportunities for cues and critiques but I will also take the time to get to know the athlete outside of track and field.
