More About Coach Cindy

My passion for swimming began as an age grouper, and has continued through my NCAA DI years and Master's Level competition. I swam at the Jr. National level through college, and held several Top Ten U.S. times in Masters competition.

Although I swam during the era of more yardage is good yardage, I firmly believe technique and good habits make serious breakthroughs possible. And I'm simply addicted to the sport. Whether coaching a swim meet, searching out great skills videos or in the water myself, I'm constantly evaluating technique and looking for the necessary adjustments to align body position or stroke mechanics in order to improve my swimmers', or my own technique.

As a USS coach and a Y coach, I truly enjoyed coaching those swimmers who were eager to learn, regardless of age. I've also privately coached age groupers and triathletes. To see a young swimmer's face light up when a good habit is formed, or to see the light bulb go on for a runner training for triathlon, is what keeps me going back again and again to coaching.

A typical training session includes appropriate warm-up time, stroke analysis and discussion, and sets designed to enforce proper technique and habits. Video analysis is available for an additional fee if needed.

The caveat I give to all of my swimmers is this: If you don't practice it on your own, you won't get the best benefit from a private coach.

Junior National Qualifier in high school
All Big East Conference swimmer every year of college
Three Top Ten US Masters' Times
Age Group Winner: Ocean City Swim three consecutive years

Sessions include appropriate warm up, stroke analysis and specific drills and sets to emphasize proper technique, with feedback throughout. Homework is given, either dryland exercises, pool work or both, depending on ability. Specific workouts will also be provided, especially for triathletes, for between sessions.

I am currently working with swimmers at their location only. Please verify that this is possible before booking a session.

Cindy is great! She quickly diagnosed my technical problems, customized drills on the spot to correct them and helped me learn the drills...very supportive and easy to work with! I'm looking forward to practicing what I learned and meeting with her again for more fine tuning!!

Cindy is great! She was right on my problems and help me correct them. I'm Looking forward to work with her more.

Cindy always kept my son's attention, mixing in dry-land and swimming instruction. Super communication and motivational skills.

Coach Cindy was able to offer valuable tips on my son's form and technique. I could visibly see a great improvement and a more steamlined form in his free and fly. After one session he has made improvements that we are hoping will show in the next swim meets. This was his first session. I will update as we have more sessions with Cindy.

Cindy worked incredibly well with my 10 year old. She analyzed her stroke, and identified several areas of improvement. She communicated effectively with my daughter, and I saw immediate improvement. My daughter felt very comfortable with her and clearly understood Cindy’s suggestions. She also offered drills and exercises for her to practice by herself. Overall, the experience was well worth the time and money, and I plan on arranging more sessions in the future. Highly recommend!

Well. I certainly wasn't one of Coach Cindy's youngest clients! I'm a 62 year old woman who is hoping to qualify for the National Senior Games. I haven't had a competitive swim in 45 years. As soon as I met with Cindy I felt very comfortable with her. She is professional, personable and positive. Hope to work with her again in the very near future. Maureen B

Coach Cindy did a terrific job with my grandchildren, who are 5, and 3, and just learning how to swim. Kudos to her for her work especially with the 3 year old to erase any trepidation she may have had. They both came away with a positive experience.

The session with Cindy for my son was extremely beneficial. He even gave her a 10! Which is impressive from a teenager. Cindy gave him lots of positive feedback prior to moving into areas to work on, which put him in the right frame of mind to accept the coaching. I would highly recommend Cindy

I had my first session with Coach Cindy recently, and I am certainly going to continue working with her. She gave me very specific and pointed feedback about my freestyle hand and arm position, and she gave me drills to follow. She has also been sending me videos to watch and specific workouts to follow. I have a good feeling that Cindy is going to be of great help to me in improving my freestyle stroke.

EDIT: I've now worked with Coach Cindy for 7 months, and I am very happy with the results. My stroke has improved immensely! Cindy's tailored workouts and homework assignments played a big part in this, and she has been very flexible in meeting times and locations. Highly recommended.

Cindy is a great coach! My son learned so much in just the first session and had fun!

Coach Cindy is great!

Excellent analysis and extremely helpful and clear communication of what to do and how to do it.

This is the best swim class Erin has ever taken. We are so impressed about Cindy's dedication to the whole process.

She spends a lot of time researching Erin's target swim team website to get enough information before this our class. During the one hour class she corrected Erin's three swim styles and taught her butterfly style, showing Cindy has solid knowledge and experience in swim.
After one hour class, she spent 15 minutes, reviewing Erin's swim with us comparing with our target evaluation form, and gave Erin good suggestion and direction to go. She keeps communicating with us through about 10 emails before and after the class.

Erin is really benefited and likes this coach.

Great first session with Coach Cindy. Extremely helpful. Glad we booked, will do so again.

Cindy did an amazing job in my first session with her as my coach. I'm generally a runner, training for my first triathlon. Cindy pointed out what was wrong with my stroke, how to correct it, why I needed to correct it, and provided me with workouts and drills to further improve. The results have been fantastic as I can already see (and feel) huge improvements. I look forward to future sessions with her for continued improvement.

First session was great. She identified all my issues and we corrected one immediately. She has me working on the others. I'm training for an Ironman and it isn't far off. I feel Cindy can get me on the proper path and ready in time. As of now I would definitely recommend her.

Today was my 4th session with Coach Cindy and I am over the moon with my achievements, its really amazing what she as learned me in such a short time. Thank you

I have known Cindy for five years as a coach, and she is phenomenal. She truly loves swimming, and she has a great enthusiasm for helping an individual get better over time. Her individualized workouts and knowledge of stroke efficiency have made me a markedly faster swimmer, and I appreciate the amount of time and energy she puts into me as an athlete.
