More About Coach Chuck

I am the primary coach for the Garden State Track Club, and I have served as head coach at several high schools and one university. This last year, my coaching highlights have included Billy Hill (4:01/1:49), Elliot Gindi (14:23), Jenn Pesce (two masters national titles), Emily Rosario (2:11/4:45), and eleven All-Americans at Middlesex College. Other notable athletes since 2020 have included Eric Holt (3:58.88), Camryn Wennersten (2:07/4:43), Andie Murray (2:08/4:51), and Ashley DeFuria (2:53), NJ's fastest Boston Marathon finisher in 2023. In 2014, I coached the Vietnamese national 4x400 team and served as a consultant for the Nicaraguan National Track and Field Team.

As a masters athlete, I've won eight national titles and made three World Championship finals. Since 2019, I've also won the 5th Ave Mile, Brooklyn Mile, USATF Masters National Mile, and Sir Walter Road Mile. In college, I was a 4xAll-BIG EAST middle distance runner for Rutgers University.

A sound training plan and sound racing plan create optimal performance, so athletes can expect a thoughtful, periodized, wholistic plan that considers age, experience, and background. While sound training theory works for athletes of all ages and abilities, it is the nuanced, personalized modifications that enable steady progression and long-term success.

Client Reviews

My high school coach provides a "one-size fits all" approach, and I needed something more rigorous, personalized, and event-specific. I got all of this from Chuck during my junior and senior years, and I ran 2:08 and 4:51 my senior year. I'm now running for Dartmouth thanks to his expertise, guidance, and support.
