More About Coach Chad
I have 7+ years experience coaching HS football (quarterbacks, receivers, cornerbacks and running backs). 2 years coaching HS basketball. I'm a certified personal trainer through NASM and recently received a Performance Enhancement Specialization through them. I was the assistant coach with IMPACT Sports Training in Ventura, CA working with elementary through professional level athletes before I moved to North Carolina. I also was a personal trainer with a couple of private gyms in California. I've done private sessions with HS and Junior High level athletes. I recently returned (July 2015) from a 4 day overnight full contact camp in San Jose, CA. sponsored by Nike and the American Association of Athletes where I was the main quarterback coach and coached other positions as well.
I'm comfortable working with kids as young as 6 all the way up to adult men and women.
In high school I was awarded numerous Jockey Club Awards and set almost all of my school records as a quarterback. I also held the county record for most passing yards in a single season my Senior year. Awarded First All Team Utility player of the year 2001. I went on to play football 2 years as quarterback for Bakersfield College then 1 year as a wide receiver at Hamline University. I competed in Track & Field at both Bakersfield College and Hamline University competing in the 400 meter dash and the javelin.
A normal hour long session with me would consist of a 5-10 minute dynamic warm up and light stretching.
The next 45 minutes will consist of proper running techniques, footwork drills, speed and agility, power and explosiveness and quick twitch muscle drills. Each workout is different to keep work outs fresh and challenging.
Some drills will be determined by the athletes position, sports and / or needs. For example if an athlete wants to improve their 40 yard dash I would have specific drills incorporated in the workout that would focus on improving speed and time.
