More About Coach Carrie

I started coaching athletes for full and half marathons in 2008. I enjoy working with a variety of levels of athletes and the best reward is helping people accomplish goals they didn't know they could achieve. I have worked with athletes in their 20's all the way to their 60's. I have coached with a non-profit since 2008 (coached athletes in half and full marathons, as well as sprint, olympic, half ironmans, and full ironman triathlons). I am certified as a walk and run coach and triathlon coach.

I've always enjoyed running. When I was little I went to the city wide summer track meets. At age 8 or 9 they called for the 1 mile run. I asked how many laps that was and not knowing how long that would take and made sure my neighbor would wait for me to finish. Since then, I have been running. I started by asking to run laps during soccer practice, then joined the cross country team, did some half marathons, then full marathons. I found a great group of friends and we started doing ultra marathons (50km, 50 miles, 100km, 100 miles). I have completed 16 Ironman triathlons, 10 century rides, and over 90 marathons/ultra-marathons including 5 100 mile ultra-marathons.

I want to find out 2 things: what experience a person has and what goals they have (when is the race and what distance it is). Depending on the athlete's experience, I would give them a plan consisting of miles, timed workouts (____ for 30 minutes), and speed/hill workouts as needed. l want to help you learn your body so that you can become an self-sufficient athlete

Training with Coach Carrie was definitely worth my time. She clearly has a depth of knowledge about running and training. She was attentive, gave an excellent evaluation of my running biomechanics and provided me with training tips I know will be useful long into the future.

Coach Carrie is knowledgeable, caring, and most of all encouraging. I learned so much from her and I continue to improve my time and distance from our session.

She did a great eval and gave some tips for my 9 year old who’s coming back from a broken ankle. Will book with her again regarding speed!

Coach Carrie was awesome! Her critique was extremely helpful in guiding me to be a more healthy running while preventing injury. Moreover, her positive attitude created a positive atmosphere for someone just getting into running recreationally.

My session with Coach Carrie was just what I needed. She had a lot of useful tips and analysis for me to help improve my running form and endurance. Very pleasant, very professional. I would absolutely recommend her.

Carrie was excellent! Worked on helping our 14 year old daughter who runs track and cross country. Gave her some great info and tips to improve pace, speed and form. Took her time with the assessment and really knows her craft! We will be using her on a regular basis during the off-season. Thanks Carrie!

I'm working to get a faster run time for my pt test, and I've only worked with her once, but Coach Carrie is super friendly and knowledgeable about running. Time just flew by when I was running with her. She's confident we can get the run time I'm aiming for. I'm looking forward to more sessions with her!

Coach Carrie was very knowledgeable and motivating!

Carrie is great!

Thank you Carrie! It was a great workout for me and has given me the motivation to keep moving forward :)

Coach Carrie was great!! Very knowledgeable and able to set up a plan very quickly. Loved her assessment style and explanation of future sessions.

She is a great coach! She took the time to visit with our entire club and assess each member who was interested individually on their form, recommended training techniques to improve their running and more. She will be coming back a few more times with us to work on a few other things and we are all very excited!

Coach Carrie is a breath of fresh air! She is personable and focused. My impression is that she cares about the goals I've set for myself and that she has a few of her own goals for me. She is responsive to phone text and email. I'm certain that she loves what she does and that motivates me to give my best in each session. Great athletes who become great coaches are the best, they know first hand what you need way before you do. I'm a firm believer that great coaches like Carrie help you get directly to your goals faster. Her fee is nothing compared to her value. I'm grateful for her time, skill and discipline.

Coach Carrie has been very helpful! She listens to my concerns and genuinely tries to give me ideas to reach my goals. I feel that she gives me a great balance between pushing me and respecting my pace. She is very knowledgeable and has a real interest in helping me succeed.

You are nothing short of a Triathlon genius! I am extremely confident that your knowledge and enthusiasm for Triathlon and athletes, is second to none. I want to thank you for all your support, encouragement and when required constructive criticism over the last 7 months while we trained for Ironman Longhorn 70.3. Despite having a wide mix of ages, experiences and skill levels, our team training practices were always well catered for and an ego-free zone. I cannot possibly thank you enough!
I’ve worked with Carrie for a couple of years now. She has taken me from an athlete with no confidence in herself (I was literally terrified to believe in myself and make working out a priority), to completing an Iron distance triathlon! She has helped not only train my body, but train my mind. Carrie is easy to reach if you have any questions, or need any advice. I recently contacted her regarding training for a marathon, and she responded back to me within 10 minutes! If you are considering using a coach for training for an endurance event I can whole-heartedly recommend her.
Carrie brings top notch knowledge and experience to all training sessions. She is always very inspiring and encouraging to all participants no matter their experience in swim, bike or run. Her thoughtfulness, motivational notes, and words, go a long way.
