More About Coach Brian

I earned my M.S. in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Sacred Heart University in 2011. I conducted original research for my Master’s thesis on “The Acute Effects of Self-Myofascial Release on Lower Extremity Plyometric Performance”. Currently, I own Old Greenwich Sports and Wellness Center, located in Old Greenwich, CT. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach (USAW), I train youth athletes from ages 12-18 years old, divisions 1-3 collegiate athletes, as well as an olympic trials qualified swimmer, and athlete on the England national lacrosse team. I also consult online clientele competing in figure and bikini class aesthetics.

As an athlete, I competed in motocross for 15 years finishing my career as an A-class level rider. My most notable accomplishments were placing 6th and 3rd in my age group classes at the tri-state challenge in 2000 and 2001 among a pool of over 100 qualified athletes from the tri-state area. Currently, I am training for my first WNPF Powerlifting meet in late 2015.

A carefully executed strength and conditioning program can improve performance and decrease the risk of injury for all athletes. My goal is to develop a stronger and more confident athlete by finding a proper balance between power and flexibility.

Following a dynamic warm-up, energy system development, and agility drills athletes train through a tier system targeting all strength and conditioning attributes within each session; power, speed, and strength. A combination of Olympic style weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting and general resistance training is used to achieve this. Corrective exercises, stretching, and soft tissue mobilization are used to address any injuries or movement dysfunction at the end of each training session.

Client Reviews

Brian is smart, confident, and very professional. I fully trust him within every aspect of my training and rehab. The facility is very modern with the capacity to train any caliber athlete and is never too crowded, giving it the feel of a community rather than a commercial gym. After suffering through chronic knee pain throughout my freshmen and sophomore years of soccer due to improper training, Brian helped me return to play for the following seasons of my high school career as team captain. The rehab and training that I received was progressive, specific and beneficial for my pain-free improvements in performance. I am now considerably faster, stronger, and more conditioned with the services they've provided me.
Working out with Brian is physically and mentally exhausting. I have been pushed to my limits, overcoming challenges I did not even know I could surmount. The staff is very personable and working with them is truly a blast! Since training, I feel stronger, faster and more agile on the field. I have noticed a remarkable difference in my play, which I believe have played a critical role in my success. I not only feel stronger and more powerful, but I feel an air of confidence knowing having survived Brian’s intense, draining workouts, I could handle anything Division 1 Athletics threw at me.
