More About Coach Bob

I have coached youth sports for the best part of 20 years and I am truly passionate about helping kids and adults realize their true potential. I have been a full time tennis instructor for the last 7 years. I am a current member of USPTR and am certified for 10 and Under and for the last 5 years have coached a USTA 3.0 women's tennis team traveling to matches as well as coaching and teaching singles and doubles strategy.

I am most proud of having been President of the Board of Governers of a historic, members owned private tennis club in a Boston suburb for a 10 year span fostering the growth of membership as well as love for the greatest sport.

A true tennis player at heart I have enjoyed playing for 50 plus years and look forward to many more.

I am a club level tennis pro. By that I mean I compete at the club level playing locally sponsored club tournaments.

My son and I are two time Doubles Champs for the City of Quincy.

Depending on my students' goals I focus on teaching proper and traditional stroke production with an emphasis on foot work and proper preparation.

I teach the traditional strokes. Forehand, backhand, forehand and backhand volleys, backhand slice, overhead and serve.

Most importantly the lesson has to be fun and informative and the ultimate goal is for the student to understand stroke production and in game strategy well enough be able to self diagnose and recognize what corrections are needed.

My goal is to provide a firm foundation and information so that anyone can play the game and ultimately enjoy its many rewards.

Bob is a very nice coach.. even after one session I could see the difference and i learnt so many basics from the first lessons.

My son loved his first session with Coach Bob! His teaching style, sense of humor, and all around knowledge of the game is exactly what we were looking for. Looking forward to more lessons with him!

I worked out for an entire week with Coach Bob. He is patient, enthusiastic and positive. I feel like I understand so much better what to do on court and plan on taking more lessons from Coach Bob as time allows. If you want to improve as a tennis player and have a game plan on what to do, I highly recommend Coach Bob!!!!!!!!!

Bob is a great coach! He is very patient and easy to work with. Bob breaks down the game to make it easier to learn and offers a lot of useful advice on ways to make adjustments. He clearly loves the game of tennis and makes it fun to learn.

Had an excellent first session with Bob – very excited to continue working with him!

Coach Bob has really connected with my son and offers genuine, warm support helping him approach tennis from all angles including physical skills and mental attitude and perspective. I know he will help him become a better and stronger tennis player.

I am getting back into tennis after 20 years away from the game (I stopped in my early 20s). My top priority was to play tennis in a way that would keep me injury-free for the next 20 years. The second priority was to find and improve the weakest parts of my game. Bob was fantastic to work with - friendly, clear, and progressively got me going on all parts of my game (serve, overhead, volleys, groundstrokes, approach shots, etc). He found my weakest points and made clear first where I had a weakness and then offered ways to improve on them/ fix them. With his help, I am well on my way to regaining my old form and adding some new weapons to my game. Highly recommend Bob.

Bob is a enthusiastic and patient coach who is determined to help you learn and improve your strokes and game. I've enjoyed getting back into tennis and looking forward to continuing with Bob!

Coach Bob is an awesome tennis coach! He helped my ground strokes improve immensely by showing me the mechanics step by step. I feel that I've learned a lot from him after taking lessons during the summer. He would always compare tennis to daily life which helped me understand the motion of ground strokes.

Very knowledgable. Easy to work with. Enjoyed the first session so i signed up for more. I highly recommend him.

Coach Bob is diligent, humorous and tough - qualities that make him an excellent coach in my opinion. He has an excellent grasp on how to teach the fundamentals and works well with beginners! His passion for tennis is infectious and years of playing/teaching experience allow him to easily see things which need to be improved. Excellent coach overall!

Our girls are loving their private tennis lessons with Coach Bob!! He is fabulous with our girls! he has a great way of teaching and having fun with them too! They love coach Bob! They look forward to each lesson!!:)

Bob is a great coach. I am 28 year who has been playing for a long time and looking to brush up a few strokes. Bob is patient, thoughtful, and excellent at diagnosing how I need to change to get my shots right. He's also a great guy - lessons are a lot of fun. Definitely recommend Bob for anyone looking for a coach in the Boston area.

Bob is an excellent coach.
My wife and I are both beginners with zero experience, and we are having group sessions with Bob.
He teaches us very carefully to help us build great foundations. We are progressing fast. Also, his teaching style is very friendly. We feel like playing tennis with our good friend. More importantly, we strongly feel Bob has true love in tennis, and it makes us feel tennis is a good sport worth investing our time. After every session ends, we are looking forward to our next session with Bob.
Thanks a lot!

Bob is a great teacher! He has an obvious love and passion for tennis. I've learned so much and my expectations have exceeded what I was hoping for. He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the game. Bob is enthusiastic and always upbeat and positive. I especially appreciate his patience when I'm struggling with a shot. This has been a great experience and I'm very happy to have found Bob through CoachUp.

I began lessons with Bob after a 34 year hiatus from playing tennis. He is always patient and good humored during our lessons and my comfort level being on the court has increased tremendously. Bob is extremely knowledgeable about the game and after just a few months of lessons I can tell you that I am developing into a better and smarter tennis player than I was in my youth.
