What is Taiji?

Taiji (Tai Chi) is one of the major internal styles contained in Wushu. It was originally created as a martial art and the movements of Taiji contain martial applications. It utilizes the ancient philosophy of Yin-Yang and the Five Element theories for its foundation and to establish its training principles. The experience of hundreds of years has shown that practicing Taiji can improve ones health, reduce tension, and cure a number of diseases such as high blood pressure, arthritis, asthma, stomach ailments, heart problems and nervousness. The same techniques that were capable of developing internal Qi for martial arts combat, also proved to be effective as life prolonging, healing, and rejuvenating exercises. Today, Taiji is best known by the millions of participants around the world for its health benefits.

There are many different styles of Taiji and a great number of Taiji Fist and weapon routines. However, the few major styles that have been recognized both in China and internationally are Yang, Chen, Sun and Wu style Taiji. Our school offers standard Taiji fist and weapon routines, as well as major traditional and competition routines such as Yang, Sun, Chen and Wu style. We also teach and explain the applications of Taiji movements, introducing and training Taiji Push Hands techniques such as the eight basic techniques, standard Push Hands routines, Free Push Hands etc.
Why learn Taiji? Who Should take this class?

Suitable for people who may be in weak health as well as good health

Students will also learn how to use Taiji techniques to neutralize opponents, how to use the 'soft' to conquer the 'hard/strong', how to use an opponent's strength against him, how to redirect his strength against him, how to use minimal force to move a powerful attack, and many other techniques.

What is Qigong?
pron. chee-Gung
alternative spellings: Chi Kung, Chi Gung

Qigong translates as the study or work of “Qi,” (chi) or “life energy,” and dates back 5,000 – 7,000 years. Originally named “pushing and pulling” or Dao-Yin, Qigong is the deep study of the relationships that exist within all of life. The early study gave rise to the discovery of and laid the foundation for an entire system of Chinese medicine & philosophy. Of primary significance was the intuitive detection of the meridians, the internal energy ‘highways’ of our bodies, their relationship to the internal organs of the body, and the entire unified relationship to general health and longevity. Through the millennia, many thousands of systems evolved to explore and cultivate these initial discoveries, each with breathing, meditation, philosophy and movement at their core. Qigong remains the root energy practice that underpins all Chinese martial, meditative and health systems and the feeling of the practice: slow and meditative, can be found through many internationally recognized systems of health and well-being.

Qigong practice naturally integrates and enhances the functions of our body and mind. The internal organs, the immune and endocrine systems, the musculo-skeletal systems, cardiac fitness, blood and energy flow, among others, are all supported and healed. The scientific benefits of Qigong have been studied in China for decades and the positive findings are now coming under equally positive scrutiny in Europe and the West. Qigong is a key to unlock many things: health, intuition, self-reliance. With Qigong, people of all ages and fitness levels may find peace, joy and a sense of profound connection.

yoga means Union

Tibetan yoga is a complete yoga system which promotes union between mind, body and spirit. 5 simple yet dynamic exercises take Only Few Hours To Learn & 15 To 20 Minutes To Practice Daily.

What is Tibetan Yoga

Tibetan Yoga comprises of 5 simple, yet dynamic yogic exercises called 5 Tibetan Rites, meditation, praanayam and positive thinking.

The Five Tibetan Rites is a yoga routine based on a ritual of exercises done by the Tibetan Lamas, which helped them to live very long and healthy life and to stay ever young. (They were developed over centuries in the monasteries of Tibet. In 1930 a retired British army officer, who learnt these from the Lamas, brought them to the west). They are now practiced around the world and are said to prevent aging. The entire routine can be completed in less than 20 minutes. An important part of the Tibetan exercises is a conscious synchronization of breathing while performing physical activity.

They balance the 7 chakras & regulate the hormonal output. They effect our digestive system, cardio vascular system, nervous system and respiratory system.

These low profile yogic secrets of the Lamas will unearth all the energies and an awesome power lying dormant within you, aligning it with the cosmic energy to give you the best of both mind & body.

History of Tibetan Yoga

Tibetan Yoga is the union of mind, body and spirit, & is based on Buddhism. The Godly Tibetan Lamas believe in living each moment to the fullest, i.e. to be consciously and totally present in every moment. These Lamas lived for 100 years and more but looked & felt like they were 50 years old. Their secret of eternal youth & vitality was a set of 5 simple yogic exercises called the ‘5 Rites ‘which were developed over centuries in the monasteries of Tibet.

In 1930 they were brought to the west by a retired British army officer, Corl. Bredford. who lived with the Lamas & practiced the 5 Rites for 3 years and returned looking many years younger. His friend, Peter Kelder, recorded the experiences of Bredford in a book called “The Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth”. Millions of people started doing the 5 Rites with amazing experiences of regaining youth, vitality, & of being cured of depression, arthritis, backache, diabetes, & digestive, respiratory, & heart problems.

Five Tibetan Rites

The Five Tibetan Rites is a yoga routine based on a ritual of exercises done by the Tibetan Lamas , which helped them to live very long and healthy life and to stay ever young& vibrant. They are simple yet highly energizing exercises which anyone of any age can do very easily. An important part of the Tibetan exercises is a conscious synchronization of breathing while performing physical activity.

They were brought to the west early in this century by a retired British army officer who learned them from Lamas and practiced them in a Tibetan lamasery. He himself became many years younger.

They are practiced around the world and very effective to prevent aging.

The Five Tibetans take a minimum of daily time and effort but can dramatically increase physical strength and suppleness as well as mental acuity. Even newcomers to yoga will experience the Five Tibetans' liberating effect on the innate energetic power of the human body and mind. Regular practice of these exercises relieves muscular tension and nervous stress, improves respiration and digestion, benefits the cardiovascular system and leads to deep relaxation and well-being. The Five Tibetans can be a powerful vehicle not only for enlivening the senses but also for generating and harnessing vital energy for self transformation.
The entire routine can be completed in less than 20 minutes.

Scientific Experience

For thousands of years, medical practitioners have maintained that the body has seven principal energy centers which correspond to the seven endocrine glands, also known as chakras. Chakras are essentially energies within spinning vortexes. As a vortex is increased, the life force becomes stronger and more directed.

Recent medical research has uncovered convincing evidence that the aging process is hormone-regulated. The five ancient Tibetan rites are said to normalize hormonal imbalances in the body, thereby holding the key to lasting youth, health, and vitality. The rites stimulate the energy system in the body, wake up the chakras, and get energy moving from your core outward to your extremities. The theory behind the rites is that your kundalini (spiritual energy) is stored and lies at the base of your spine and that these rites access that energy in a very efficient, fast, and safe way.

Some call these rites isometric exercises. Although they are helpful in stretching muscles and joints and improving muscle tone, this is not their primary purpose. The vortexes spin fast when we are young but as we age or if we are very stressed and don’t exercise, then these vortexes slow down. Slow & abnormal vortexes produces abnormal health, deterioration, and old age. The 5 Rites normalize the speed of the spinning vortexes by keeping them spinning at the same rate and working in harmony.

A Brief Description of Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning cosmic or universal lifeforce. Healing means restoring harmony to mind, body and spirit. By using gentle touch, the energy in your body will be balanced, thereby creating healing.

Reiki is the name given to a system of natural healing which evolved from the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui, a professor of theology who lived in the 19th century. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have been trained in the traditions passed down from master to student.

There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment. The only prerequisite is the desire to be healed, and for physical, mental, spiritual and emotional wellbeing.

A Reiki treatment can be given anywhere without the need to remove clothing, as Reiki is said to pass through anything, maybe even plaster casts.

To receive treatment the recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If unable to lie down, the treatment can be given in a sitting position. The main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible.

Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing pain and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself. It is possible to heal at any level of being: physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
Reiki natural healing may be used to energise you when you feel drained and calm you when you feel afraid.

It can help you:

Sleep
Reduce high blood pressure
Relieve asthma
Migraines
Stress
Relieve pain
Accelerate healing of wounds, injuries and infections
Help prevent development of disease and much more.

Acute injuries can be helped to heal very quickly, but more chronic illness takes longer. Whatever your need, you should feel very relaxed after a treatment.

Reiki supports all forms of treatment both orthodox and complementary.

Healing is a process of restoring harmony and promoting emotional growth. If there is a longstanding imbalance it may take many sessions to obtain lasting relief from symptoms, since many changes may have to take place before the cause is reached.

Give yourself a great gift - learn Reiki for your own self healing, or for treating other people or animals.
