focus on feel. learning right effort and listening to the water. start with body position, head position, body line, breathing, then adding kick, hand entry, grabbing water and moving water with pull. The whole goal is to reduce drag and increase propulsion.

breathing drill using the deck and testing 'holding the body line' -- turning the head for the 'magic pocket' when breathing and learning to put this inside the stroke without losing rhythm

high elbow recovery and finger tip drag

basic sculling to develop a feel for the water

pace work for fitness clients based on test sets designed to increase speed and endurance

using video analysis to review technique and give feedback to make adjustments.
