Coach Edson brings over 30 years of coaching both interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics. Coach Edson is currently a collegiate level coach training elite athletes (or those striving to become elite) in a variety of event disciplines to include the Mutli-event disciplines, and throws. In his recent past, as Head Coach of of a Division 3 High School in NH, he transformed both the boys and girls track and cross country teams to unprecedented levels of success which included 12 individual state champions, nine school records, one MOC champion, one decathlon state champion, and one team state championship. Coach E has helped develop school record holders, All-star, All-conference, All-State, All-Region, and All-American Athletes in both Track and Field, and Cross Country. His highest team acheivements were State Champions at the High School Level, and NCAA National Champions runner-up (3rd) at the collegiate level.
Edson was an assistant coach at Middlebury College from 2011 to 2014 (Middlebury, Vt.) and responsible for the horizontal jumps and multi-events in track and also served as cross country assistant coach. Edson coached several school record holders, All-Conference (NESCAC), All-Region (New England / ECAC), and All-American athletes while at Middlebury. He was a member of the NESCAC Coaching staff of the year in 2014 for Men’s Track and Field, and helped lead the Cross Country team to a combined program best finish with the men in seventh place while the women’s team finished as runner-up in third at the NCAA Division III National Championships in 2013.
In his current role, "Coach E" has assumed focused duties of training the throws section of his current collegiate program. He also assists with mutli-event athletes as well. Since taking on this role in November of 2022, 14 athletes under his watch have accumulated over 100 documented personal achievements both athletically and academically. Notably, several school records have been broken, 2 conference champions crowned, 4 conference athletes of the week recognized (multiple times), 4 athletes have quailifed for regional competition (including a multi-event athete), 1 All-New England athlete honored, and 2 athletes have been ranked top 40 in the Nation in their respective disciplines this season.
Throughout his career in Track and Field, Coach E has developed State, Regional, or Conferences individual champions in every discipline of the sport. He is a postive mentor, master strategist, and subject matter expert of the sport and will prepare athletes physically, technically, and emotionally to become the best they can be. Coach Edson is also evolving his interest in supporting the US Paralympic movement by developing adaptive sports opportunities for youth, open men and women, and veteran disabled athletes of various classifications.
Coach E is a credentialed expert in Leadership development and has worked to provide trainings in leader skills and leadership principles to coaches, captains, teams, and individuals. He is a published author, public speaker, and provides workshops on Leadership.
Coach Edson was an All-conference, Section champion, and State championship qualifier in High School Track & Field and Cross Country. No matter the discipline of focus or event, an athlete can expect a progressional approach of training that incrementally builds upon foundational elements of the event. Performance improvements will be based on using drills, technique progressions, and video analysis specific to your event. Nutrition, conditioning, and mental preparation will also be included within the clinical conversations.

Client Reviews
Todd (CoachUp client)
Bill was great! He showed up early and got set up for the hour session with my daughter. Bill did an excellent job asking what our expectations were and explaining the goal for that session. He’s very knowledgeable and demonstrated what he was teaching. Overall great experience, we will be using Bills coaching abilities again in the future for further development. Thank you Bill.
