Warmup
- I have three goals for the warmup. Stimulate blood flow so the body is ready for physical activity, improve mobility and range of motion, prepare the athlete for the types of movements that will be practiced during the training session. We begin with light cardio and agility exercises, following by a thorough stretching routine.
Ballhandling
1 - Learn proper athletic stance to maximize quickness and balance
2 - Learn to control the ball through the sense of feeling, and not relying on looking at the ball
3 - Learn to move in different directions with the ball
4 - Learn dribble moves catered to the athlete's current skill level
5 - Practice what you have learned against live defensive pressure
Passing: By becoming a better passer, you make your teammates around you better, and make yourself more difficult to guard
1 - Learn the proper technique for fundamental passes such as chest pass, bounce pass and overhead
2 - Learn to pass against defensive pressure
3 - Learn to pass in game time situations such as pick & roll, drive & kick, and passing from the post
4 - Learn more advanced passes such as passing across your body, learning to look away to deceive the defense and behind the back passing
Defense
1 - Learn stay in front of your opponent by practicing proper defensive stance and defensive slides
2 - Learn to contest shots
3 - Learn to box out and rebound
4- Learn to play help defense, and understand team defensive concepts
Finishing & Post Game
1 - Layups
2 - Off Hand Layups
3 - Finishing Moves (Reverse, Spin Move, Euro etc.)
4 - Post Moves (Drop Step, Hook Shot, Up & Under etc.)
Shooting: There is no shortcut. The only way to be a great shooter is with lots and lots and lots of repetition. It is essential to use proper form to instill good habits, otherwise that repetition will only lead to you getting really good at doing it the wrong way.
1 - Learn hand placement, shot technique, and shooting form
2 - Learn to catch & shoot and shoot off the dribble,
3 - Learn to move without the ball to get open
4 - Learn to create space and get a shot off against a live defender
Off Ball Skills: There are five players playing offense and one time, and only one of them will have the ball at any given time. That means 80% of the time your spend on offense will be off ball. Therefor it is very important to learn to be an effective off ball player.
1 - Cutting
2 - Learning to get open
3 - Reacting to your teammates
4 - Reacting to the defender
5 - Offensive Rebounding

Coach Andy is amazing, I highly recommend him for coaching any skill level. My 8-year-old is a true beginner to the sport, and Andy provides an excellent balance of realistic skill training for her level while relating to her in a very fun way. He can do it all and is a great option for both strong-skilled players looking to improve and newcomers to the sport alike.

Tho we've only had 2 sessions so far, Coach Andy has been prompt in meeting the scheduled time. And if he needs to reschedule he notified us weekd in advance. He is effective and efficient at helping my son grow as a player teaching the fundamentals and patiently observing if he is grasping them if not he will have them repeat it. My son has had 2 sessions thus far with Coach Andy and is already seeing positive changes in his game. I was looking for a coach to help him improve his overall presence and skills on the court. He is gaining confidence in his game and has a good time while working with Coach Andy. They work on all aspects of the game from the importance of warming up, conditioning and stretching, to lay ups, defense and everything else in between. Working with Coach Andy has definitely been a great experience for my son!
