More About Coach Amy

Amy has been coaching runners for 5 years and personal training for 6 years. She has experience coaching beginning, intermediate and advanced runners. Her certifications include certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise, certified fitness nutrition specialist also through ACE, certified functional personal trainer through ACE, and Run Right Pro running coach certified specifically in gait analysis. She is currently working on an additional certification in sports performance through ACE. Amy coached cross country and track at Denver South High School for 2 years and is currently assisting with Grandview High School's track program. Amy typically works with men women between the ages of 25 and 45. She runs her business, Body by Amy, LLC, out of a gym in Arvada called Commit2Fitness. Amy was a state-ranked runner in high school. After graduating, she attended and ran for Providence College (Division I) and later SUNY Geneseo (Division III). Post-collegiately, she ran for the Genesee Valley Harriers of Rochester New York for 2 years and now runs for Reese Racing Club out of Denver, Colorado and is chasing an Olympic Qualifying time in the marathon. Her recent 2019 achievements include 1st in the Lucky Laces 10K in 38:24, 3rd in Denver’s Colfax Half Marathon in 1:22:50, and 1st in the Cherry Creek Sneak 10 miler.

Amy's sessions vary depending upon whether they occur at the track or at the gym. At the track, she has her athletes warmup and then complete form drills and dynamic stretching, followed by a track workout and cooldown. At the gym, she concentrates on strength training specific to runners (such as glute activation techniques, posture exercises, stability drills, etc).

All of Amy's athletes also receive a VDot02 account and training plan to support them on the days they don't meet in person.
