More About Coach Alex

I have coached athletes in a variety of sports and different levels such as wrestling, football and strength and conditioning. I have coached college, high school, middle school and elementary school athletes. Currently I am working as a Sports Performance Specialist at Redline Athletics in Buffalo Grove, where I coach athletes from ages 8-18, who play football, basketball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, volleyball and tennis. I hold a degree in Exercise and Sports Studies as well as Applied Health Sciences.

I competed at a high level in wrestling, rugby and football. In 2014, I played an integral role in leading my rugby team, The Lake County Mercenaries, to a 3rd place finish in the state competition. I played college football at Robert Morris University and in 2016, helped my team win their first MSFA Conference Championship in program history. While playing inside linebacker at RMU, I accumulated a handful of TFL's and forced fumbles. I also played H-back during my time at Robert Morris. During my time at RMU I received the All-Academic Scholar Athlete award all four years for maintaining a GPA of 3.95. Recently. I helped train and lead my men's flag football team to win the 2020 championship.

An hour session typically starts with a 10-15 minute dynamic warm-up where I focus on developing an athlete's running biomechanics and address any postural imbalances with corrective movements. Next, I would have the athlete perform speed, agility and power drills for 15 minutes, that are directly related to their sport to increase their linear and lateral speed, power, agility and coordination. The final 30 minutes of the session would consist of a strength training workout to develop overall strength and power related to their sport, as well as incorporating any corrective exercises to keep the athlete healthy and injury resistant.

Client Reviews

Coach Alex has been great working with my 7yr old son on football drills and conditioning. I can't speak to other sports he coaches, but he's definitely familiar with all the necessary drills and techniques for my son's level of football 🏈 as he played the sport himself. From my son's perspective, and with him having zero athletic or organized sport experience prior to this summer, he looks forward and enjoys going to see coach Alex as he sees it as a privilege (not other kids get to go on his Team, obviously) but also because he gets 1on1 coaching for an hour to perfect his position.

Coach Alex will also be visiting one of my sons football practices so he can see how he performs in the team setting with his coaches. So far everything has been going very well with Coach Alex and I would recommend him to others.
