More About Coach Albert

I have coached football for 10 years from youth football all the way up to college football. I have worked with Monroe Youth football, Monroe Middle School, Monroe High School, Sun Valley High School, Greensboro College, Jireh Prep Academy. I work with all ages as long as the athletic is serious about training and willing to improve on their skills.

I was a member of Winston Salem State University Football Team with records of 13-1 and 14-1 and HBCU Champions 2011 and 2012. I was a member of The University of South Caroline Football Team 2004 – 2006 (Recruited and signed by Lou Holtz, Head Coach) and Independence Bowl 2005 (Head Coach Steve Spurrier). I was an All-American Football Player in two positions (running back, safety) 2003. All-State Football Player 2002 and 2003, All Region Player in football 2002 and 2003, All-County Player in football 2002, 2003, Offensive player of the year for the county 2003, Offensive player of the year for the conference 2003, Three year letter-man – football, Player of the Week in football 2003, Player of the State in football 2003, Gridiron Great in football 2003.

A typical session with me would first consist of knowing what the athlete is wanting to work on. Do they want to work on their speed, cutting, catch or all of it. Once knowing what areas we will be working on I begin to find out their skill level: beginner, intermediate or advance skill set. Once that is established I will run them through a warm-up of stretching and running to get the heart rate up. Once the warm up is complete we will work on speed work drills with ladders and cones. In and out drill with the cones, side to side jumps over mini hurdle for speed, ladder drills, sled pulls, running drills with cones and running through points. After speed drills we will work on agility. L drill, short cone drill, X drill, pro shuttle drill, W drill etc. I will continue to break each part in which they want to work on until the time is up. I will record the times and what they did so each session we can see if there are improvements and what areas in which need more attention.
