More About Coach Aaron
I am the current high jump coach at Palo Alto High School (my alma mater!), where I design and lead technical training sessions focused on event-specific skill development, approach consistency, and competition readiness. I also work with athletes ranging from middle school through the collegiate level, tailoring instruction to each stage of development, whether it's foundational movement patterns or advanced technical refinement. My workout plans pull directly from my own training and experience within 2 high-major NCAA Division I programs (UCLA, UMiami).

I offer private coaching, group training, training plans, and virtual consultations.
Generally, my sessions look like this:
1. Warm up (dynamic stretching, mobility, sprint drills, mat drills)
2. High jump tech (visualization/approaches/jumps/specific drills/plyometrics)
3. Cool down/Prehab
My job as a coach is to provide athletes with a deep understanding of the event in all of its technical components, and I pride myself as a technician. But high jump is unique in that while demanding physical ability, it's not always the most physically gifted that win. How can that be? Because above all, clearing bars is a mental feat. I work relentlessly with my athletes on building confidence, on being able to SEE themselves succeed before even taking a jump. And over time, that confidence will follow them off the track and into their lives.
