More About Coach Aaron

I have coached high school athletes for 25 years. After a brief career as a former professional football player (QB), I became a high school head football coach. During my 22 years in this position, my QB's have become all league or all conference in 18 of those seasons. My teams have reached the sections championship 4x in my 22 years. We have made the playoffs at Shasta High every one of my 14 seasons there. I am frequently commissioned by Nike and Underarmour to travel to athletic conferences to discuss offense, QB play, off season training, and speed development. Over the years, I have occasionally worked as a personal coach for quarterbacks.

After high school I continued my playing career as a QB at Western Oregon State. Following my four years, I worked as a free agent for three years, participating in the Spring Professional League (World Football League) as well NFL training camps. Following three years of chasing my dream, I became a high school head football coach at Granada High School (8 years) and then moved north to Shasta High School (14 years). My list of accomplishments are listed:
2009 NIKE California Football Coach of the Year
2008 Northern Section Football Coach of the Year
2008 Record Searchlight Coach of the Year
1997, 2002-2006 Who’s Who Among American High School Teachers
2000 Coach of the Year for the Oakland/S.F. Bay area
2000 NFL coach of the week
1995 Lion’s All-star coach (Northern Coast Section)
1995-PRESENT Highly regarded and sought after clinic speaker throughout the country

Start with active warm up which includes a review/evaluation of sport skills (ie.... QB drops, ball carriage, throwing release).
Review of previous lesson (or go through an evaluation of skills and goals if it's the first lesson) through drill review.
Teach/discuss/apply passing concept (reads)
Discuss/apply leadership qualities needed as a quarterback in high school
Teach skill(s) of the day
Competition throws of the day
Summary/review.
**Note: During the lesson my job is to evaluate and give suggested drills in which the student can work on at home to improve his technique. After discussing time constraints, personal goals, and type of high school system the student operates in, we will create a "plan of action" in which we address all his needs and goals throughout the lessons.
