More About Coach Zachary
I've coached at the Division 1 high school level for over 10 years at St. John's Prep (Danvers, MA). I've coached dozens of state champions across various distances, including the male New England record holder for 2-miles (8:44). I've coached over 40 athletes who have gone on to the NCAA level. I've also coached athletes post-high school or post-college looking to improve as runners.
I was an NCAA DII athlete for 12 seasons at Stonehill College. After college, I ran for New Balance Boston for 3 years and raced competitively until I was 25. Since then, my focus has been on high school coaching. I've been Salem News Coach of the Year 6x, Boston Globe CoY, Boston Herald CoY, and Massachusetts State Track CoY. I have a M.S. in Sport Management and Athlete Development from University of Florida, and an MEd. from Providence College.
Sessions would depend on the client goals, but generally would include some drills and mechanics, gait analysis, workout (tempo, intervals, max velocity, etc.), followed by strength, mobility, and/or core.
