More About Coach Tyreek

I’ve coached sprinters in the 100m and 200m at the high school and youth levels, focusing on mechanics, explosiveness, and race strategy. As a former sprinter and Olympic bobsledder, I bring high-level experience and detail to every session. I train athletes in acceleration, max velocity, and proper sprint form to help them PR, improve starts, and finish strong.

I’ve worked with sprinters ranging from beginner to varsity-level high school athletes, typically ages 13–18. My athletes have competed at the regional and state level. I offer both private and small group sprint coaching and speed development.

A typical sprint training session with me is structured, high-energy, and focused on speed mechanics and performance.

We always start with a dynamic warm-up and mobility work to prep the body and reinforce sprint posture. Then, we move into drills that develop acceleration, max velocity, and stride efficiency — including A-skips, B-skips, wall drives, and bounding progressions.

From there, we break down block starts or standing starts, focusing on technique out of the drive phase and transition into upright sprinting. Depending on the athlete’s goals, we’ll run short acceleration sprints (10–30m), fly sprints (20–40m), or full 100m/200m efforts with breakdown and feedback.

I use video feedback, timing drills, and movement cues to improve technique and ensure every rep is intentional. We end with a short cool-down and mobility to aid recovery.

Every session is customized to the athlete’s level — whether we’re correcting form, building race rhythm, or sharpening race-day execution.
