More About Coach Tylor

I have over ten years of experience coaching and training youth and high school basketball athletes. My background includes coaching 7th and 8th grade AAU basketball teams at a competitive level, as well as serving as a coach and trainer with ATX Impact Sports. In addition, I have independently trained athletes between the ages of 8 and 17 for several years, with a focus on skill development, athletic performance, and basketball fundamentals.

Basketball has been a major part of my life from a young age. I was honored to be selected as an All-Star in Chicago’s East vs. West High School Basketball Game in 2006 while representing Taft High School. My college career continued at Oakton Community College, where I was named the NJCAA Illinois Skyway Conference Player of the Year in 2008. I later advanced to St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX, where I earned First-Team All-Conference honors in the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference. These experiences not only shaped me as a player but also inspired my passion for developing the next generation of athletes.

In each session, I focus on helping athletes elevate their basketball skills through structured, individualized training. The first session begins with an assessment of key areas such as ball-handling, shooting, speed, strength, and agility. This evaluation allows me to design a personalized plan that targets both strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring steady and visible progress.
Workouts blend skill development with strength and conditioning, emphasizing off-hand control, shooting consistency, and mental focus techniques that build confidence and perseverance. My goal is to prepare every athlete to perform at their highest level—whether that’s excelling during the season, standing out at tryouts, or becoming a stronger, more complete player overall.

Client Reviews

I met coach Tylor during the 2025 summer basketball season, and he did a great job in preparing the team for the upcoming games as the season came to an end, I knew my son needed more development for his upcoming middle school team. Within four sessions with coach, I saw an improvement in his shooting form as well as the confidence to use his left hand with the training received he was able to secure a spot on the A team at his school and make the AAU team. Coach Tylor highly recommended in my book.
