More About Coach Tyler
I have a Bachelor's degree in Health Fitness/Exercise Science and a Master's degree in Sport Administration from Central Michigan University (CMU). I spent three years working in a collegiate strength and conditioning department at a Division I university. During that time I worked with both male and female student athletes in their respective sports. While in my Master's program, I coached as well as taught weight training and conditioning classes at CMU. I have spent the last four years working with high school athletes in Macomb County. I previously worked as a personal trainer at a corporate health and fitness club where I specialized in training young athletes. I currently work as an exercise physiologist in a clinical setting as well as a strength and conditioning coach at Fraser High School and Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores. I also work alongside my good friend and fellow strength coach, Orande Roy, as a coach in his fitness and performance company. I am currently preparing to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
I have been involved in athletics my entire life. Growing up I played soccer, football, and basketball competitively. In high school I competed on the national stage for basketball and through the years earned multiple awards at camps across the state of Michigan.
During a typical session with me, you can expect three key components: Warm-Up, Train, Cool Down. Each of these are key and contain different techniques, movements, drills, and exercises depending on the sport, season, and training goal. We will do exercises to help prevent common injuries in the given sport. After that, each athlete can expect a plan to help target any weak areas they may have and strengthen others necessary for their sport or sports. My goals for each of my athletes are that they remain safe, unlock their full potential, become disciplined, and have fun doing it!
