More About Coach Tristan

I have been a collegiate track and field coach for 3+ years. I have trained numerous athletes at the high school and collegiate level. Currently, I have coached over 30+ athletes to All-Conference performances at the collegiate level. I just finished completing my Master's degree in Sport Management and also have a Level 1 Track and Field Certification. With plans of receiving my Level 2 Track and field certification this summer, I began specifically training track and field athletes of all ages. I have coached at the high school level up north in Sacramento but found my calling down here in Southern California as a coach for California Lutheran University. I specialize in short sprints (100m-400m), hurdles, and relays, as well as some jumping events.

I competed competitively in track and field for 10+ years. Growing up in a sports family, I played all kinds of different sports throughout my childhood. Originally, I joined track and field to get faster for other sports such as football and basketball but very soon after fell in love with the sport completely. I ran at the collegiate level for 4 years and was able to qualify to run at two NCAA National Championships. I was 10x All-Conference athlete in the short sprints and relay events. I was also a 2x Academic All American as well.

1) Full warmup and stretching - Dynamic warmup drills/strides/buildups
2) Technique work and drills - Depending on the type of athlete and what event they are training for. (Running form, sprint drills, block work, hurdle drills, etc)
3) Specific workout catered to athletes needs - Workout of the Day. This workout will depend on what events the athlete does and what they are specifically training for. Usually, I will set goals with the athlete beforehand for what they are trying to accomplish and will develop a workout plan based around those goals.
