More About Coach Tracey
I bring over 15 years of experience coaching and training athletes across a wide range of ages and skill levels. I’ve coached at the middle school and high school levels, and I’m currently the head coach at the junior college level. I’m passionate about developing well-rounded athletes—whether they're just starting out or preparing to compete at the next level. I take pride in creating a positive, focused environment where athletes can build confidence, improve fundamentals, and grow both on and off the court. I’ve worked with youth, teens, and adults, and I tailor each session to meet individual goals while keeping the game fun and challenging.
I played professionally in Keflavik, Iceland, where I scored 23 points in my debut. Before that, I competed at the Division I level for Santa Clara University, finishing with over 1,000 career points and helping our team win a WCC Championship as a freshman. I was named Santa Clara’s Most Improved Player and Most Outstanding Defensive Player, with standout performances including a double-double in the WCC title-clinching game and a 25-point effort to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
In high school, I became the first girls’ player from my program to play professionally. I was named Senior of the Year in my section after averaging 25 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and five steals. I also earned Freshman and Sophomore of the Year honors and was a two-time All-State selection. I still hold school records in assists, steals, rebounds, and three-point shooting, and once scored 53 points in a single game—setting a sectional record.
• I’m big on fundamentals. Learning the basics is key to actually understanding and playing the game the right way
• I focus a lot on guard development, especially for point guards and shooting guards
• We’ll start with a warm-up and go into a ball-handling series that switches up depending on the focus that day
• You’ll be inside with access to a shooting machine so we can get a lot of quality reps in
• I like to incorporate agility work and drills to improve overall quickness
• A big part of what we do is building that explosive first step and tightening up footwork
• We’ll also work on movement off the ball, balance, and body control
• The small details matter, and everything we do has a purpose
• I want you leaving each session sharper, more confident, and with a better feel for the game
