More About Coach Tony

Welcome! I'm Coach Tony...

Helping players maximize their potential is what I do.

Why are you on the CoachUp site? Do you want to get better? Are you fully committed to developing your game?
Do you want the benefit of working with a real coach, with documented experience preparing both individuals and teams? Someone who can give you the advantage to get to the next level because they have actually coached games at the H.S., major college & pro-level?

Skills trainers, CoachUp coaches, and former players are popular choices for many people seeking to improve their game. Even YouTube viral video sensations are attracting people with their fancy eye catching drills. And while these people can be helpful sometimes, none of them have the same base of knowledge, experience and resulting success in developing players for competitive play at the H.S. elite AAU and college level. They are trying to prepare you to be successful for when you get to play at those levels.
And by the way, those skills trainers and former players that you might be considering - The best ones all played for - and learned from - a real coach. So why not just go directly to the source? Take a look at my unique background below...

3. You have to experience it to feel it and understand it. Even then, you still might not understand. But it often starts working the next time you play a game - all by itself...

If you've, read everything from the top till here - or the opposite - skipped here to the end... Congratulations! You might be someone that will be fun and rewarding to work with...

Very patient. Makes his assessment and gets to work.

My girlfriend said coach Tony provided the drills and skills needed to help prepare her for her overseas expo games. Keeping him for ongoing training!

Tony provided great coaching and extended the session considerably longer than the official time. He was genuinely interested in my son's and my progress, showed patience, and good insight into our problems. My game is improved after our short time with Tony.

Coach Tony has a very unique style of teaching. There was an improvement in my game in first 15 minutes. I definitely recommend Coach Tony.

Great coach who not only teaches basketball but explains the mental part of the game. Loved my session

Tony's training approach is something different from what I have experienced throughout my life. There is a lot of emphasis placed on the mental aspects of playing and what you need to do, to let your body and mind do the work for you. I would highly recommend Tony to any athlete looking to take their game to the next level. His knowledge and teaching ability is exceptional.

Explained everything. Patient. One lesson and I have noticed the difference. I have signed up for more.

Excellent! From start to finish you will get better in just one day!

My son had a great time at your training session the other night. He felt you really motivated him to try hard and liked your feedback and attention. Watching the session, my husband also liked the positivity and intensity of the training. Both said they noticed positive results after the first session. Will definitely book again.

Really knows what's he doing, really worth booking! Thank you Coach Tony!

We have only had one session but my son enjoyed working with Coach Tony. He has already learned some new techniques and skills and is excited for the next session.

One word. FANTASTIC
I highly recommend him as coach and mentor. I'm looking forward to many more sessions with him.

My 14 year old son loved his first session with Coach Tony. The session was scheduled for 90 minutes and lasted over 2 hours. Coach Tony's training is unique, intense, and well balanced. He is a very good motivational trainer. Although, Coach Tony is hard to book with his busy travel achedule, it's worth scheduling only one session, because it's like a personal clinic that will produce positive results. I have already booked four additional sessions, and my son and I are looking forward to the next one.

My son has been playing basketball and needed to work on better ball handling skills. Tony not only helped with his ball handling, he showed him some foot work and wrist movements. He is awesome! So happy to have had a session with him while he was in town. His confidence has soared!

Love working with him! As a person who has never been able to run or enjoy it, i feel like a runner after two sessions! Highly reccommended!

Tony is great for getting you into the zone using
His strong psychology background. He is not going
To be a hitting partner or work on details of stroke
Mechanics but he will make you focus and get you in a
Top performance mode frame of mind.

Tony is a great Coach and Communicator. We were doing various drills and he TEACHES you so you can improve. My shot has improved exponentially since meeting Tony. Definitely recommend him as a coach.

Coach Tony is a wonderful coach. He has worked with my two sons. They say they have learned a lot from him In just a couple of sessions. Not only is he a great coach, he is a good guy. They are looking forward to more lessons.

Coach Tony was great. He pointed out that I was over-thinking my serve instead of just relaxing and letting the racquet fly. Doing just a couple of things Tony asked me to do made a huge difference. Now it's my turn to drill on my own and try and break my bad habits.

I am not a “trainer,” or well known former player. I am the guy who coached them, administrated their athletic department (NCAA DI Assistant to the Athletic Director) and managed local and regional events for their (NCAA, NBA, NFL, USTA) teams and leagues. Your game and your life will get better. But, you will only have limited access to me. This is because I primarily work with college and pro athletes, as well as my work as a writer, I only keep 4 amateur players in my training rotation at one time. I work with players in Florida, Chicago, and NYC while traveling and working as Editor in Chief of Sports Psychology Illustrated, providing content for NBA/USA iHoops, as well as Tennis and Success Coaching publications. My work has been featured on NBC & ABC Local TV affiliates and major newspapers in Chicago, South Florida, Miami/Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beach Areas. My methods are unique, and are advocated by the NCAA, NBA, USA Basketball, The National Federation of High Schools, and have also been translated into several languages and utilized globally by the Sports Federations of several Nations.
