More About Coach Tobe

I have been doing individual and small group workouts for the past 20 years for basketball players of all ages. What I provide, for youth basketball players ages 6-12 is a high level skill work out similar to the individual skill work we provide for Collegiate Men's Basketball Teams.

My experience in basketball is not only limited to coaching. As a former Division I player as well as a professional in Europe and the NBA G-League; I have developed a wide range of drills to improve skill while also developing competitiveness and fitness.

In my individual workout sessions, players will have access to equipment and facilities used by collegiate athletes. This experience provides young players with confidence in knowing that the drills they are doing produce results that can be seen directly at a higher level. My coaching and drill experience also come from 15 years as an Associate Director of Skills Camp, Inc. in The Greater New Haven Area. Please contact me for more details. Also, please see Haven4Hoops.com for information on future Basketball Clinics.

My son had his first session with Coach Tobe and he can’t wait to go back. Coach Tobe was very professional, polite, very responsive when it came to booking and answering any of my questions. He already taught my son some great new skills and had him working really hard. My son really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend Coach Tobe!

Coach Tobe was great with my boys - they are 8 and 10 so with different ability and strengths but it focused on both of them and gave them great advice specific to what they should work on. He kept it fun, worked them hard and definitely is having a positive impact on their game. They are very excited when they know they have a session coming up!

Very helpful and knowledgeable, would definitely recommend!

Just had my very first session with Coach Tobe. The session was intense, challenging and most importantly effective. By the end of the session, I already see the value of training with a professional. Specifically, being aware of the weak area that I need to practice a lot more; the exact issue that causes my shots short in range and unstable. All of these, I believe, requires a paired of trained eye to spot, otherwise one will need to spend awfully more time on guessing where goes wrong. That is not ideal to someone who is after efficiency at all. Nonetheless, the most valuable part of training with Coach Tobe is his real-time feedback that allows me to know how I can improve right after each repetition, and I believe this is the core of training someone with years of experience.

Thanks Coach Tobe!

Coach Tobe did a phenomenal job working with my 10 year old son. It was hands down the best workout my son has ever done. He was exhausted, but can't wait to workout with Coach Tobe again. The workout itself was very well thought out, organized, fast paced, and challenging. It was very clear that Coach Tobe is a great coach with a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Coach Tobe gave me great training. He taught me some useful fundamental basketball knowledge that is extremely helpful.

Tobe is a great coach and player! I am happy that I found him through COACHUP. I was searching for someone that has a high level of basketball skill and knowledge that could help my son Luke improve his skill set.......Tobe is it. He is very well organized with a great variety of drills that are both educational and challenging. During our practice session he showed Luke new drills and how the mix of ball skills is so important. He is very positive through his instruction. I really believe his skill development instruction will help any player improve. FIVE STARS!

Coach Tobe was an amazing coach. He taught me new things that have really helped me improve my game, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Coach Tobe helped my son after just one session. We will be back!

Coach Tobe assessed my son skill level and assisted him in areas that needed to strengthen or developed. His interaction with my son is great and my son enjoys working with him.

Coach Tobe most definitely knows what he is doing and how to get the most out of a player. My 13 year old daughter loved the session. Instruction was appropriately tailored to her skill level and made the most out of the hour long session. Coach gave good feedback throughout the session. She felt like she got a lot out of it and I agree. Looking forward to more sessions with Coach Tobe.

Coach Tobe is a fantastic coach. He has a great supportive attitude, and extensive knowledge base. I could see my son's skills improving as the session went on. My son is even more enthusiastic now about putting in the necessary work to improve.

First session was this morning and Coach Tobe was outstanding. Sam (11 years old) had a blast and learned a ton in only 60 minutes! Coach Tobe’s focus on fundamentals and hard work balanced with his professional and experienced demeanor was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.

Coach Tobe was excellent with my boys. They both enjoyed their time with him and came away with a lot to work on at home before they meet with him again.

Coach Tobe is a wonderful coach. He is full of knowledge and great workouts. He always tries to make you a better all-around player. On multiple occasions he went over time with me just to finish the workout. My shooting is 10 times better and I feel a lot more comfortable handling the ball after working out with him. He has made me an all-around better player. I couldn't have picked a better coach. He also takes the time to write the workouts down for you and do summaries of your workout. If I could I would give him six stars. I'm a college basketball player so I can tell you his workouts can help anyone from grade school to college if you're willing to work hard and improve, because he's willing to put in the work from his end too.

Coach Tobe is an excellent coach. His techniques and coaching greatly improved my ball handing and shooting. I would definitely recommend going to him.

Our Son loved Coach Tobe! We are excited to have him work with him again. The workout and individualized training was point on.

Awesome Coach. Had awesome drill which I use on my own to get better. Very laid back and easy to talk to.

My son really enjoys the sessions. Tobe provides a full workout (ball handling, dribbling and shooting). My son has practice with his AU team at least twice a week and sometimes additional skills sessions but the one hour he has with Tobe one-to-one, is sometimes more valuable than all of those combined. My son responds to his feedback and works to improve with each session.

We didn't know what to expect in our first session but it was clear within the first 10 minutes that this was going to be different than most of the clinics my son has participated in. My son plays AAU ball so he has had his share of working with coaches but none like Coach Tobe who had some great drills and advice. I'm one to typically criticize everything but I've got nothing but good things to say about our first session. Most importantly, my son loved the session and we both agree that we'll continue with Coach Tobe; he was very impressive.

I'm very impressed with the work out Tobe does with my son . My son is looking forward to the next work out . Tobe know the game and will teach your son or daughter what they need to know to be a better BB PLAYER . 100% approve

Tobe displays a good balance between encouraging and letting my daughter know realistically where she needs to improve. In just a couple of sessions, he has gotten her to push beyond what she felt she was capable of and she enjoys every minute. There are times when we are not the best teacher for our children and if I have to be substituted, then this is the guy. I have the utmost confidence that Tobe is the right person to improve my daughter's game and overall knowledge of the game of basketball. Choose him with confidence. Five star instruction awaits you.

All I can say is that Coach Tobe is EXCELLENT!!! Both my 7 and 9 year old boys are very happy with what they learned after only one coaching session with Coach Tobe and the confidence level of both boys has gone up and is both noticable and appreciated.

Tobe is a skilled and professional coach. My son is very happy with coaching sessions. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Coach Tobe was great. My son is a beginner and Coach gave him great skills, worked him out pretty hard but was kind and intelligent and gave my son great confidence. He is looking forward to his next sessions!

I met my with b coach Tobe , for my daughter, and Loved the coaching , will be getting more sessions with him

Had a great workout session with Coach Tobe. He corrected some of my bad habits and weaknesses. I felt like I improved alot from the workout and learned alot of new things.

I went into my first lesson with Coach Tobe concerned as I had my 2 boys in one lesson together. One is 11 and one is 7 and I did not want the instruction slowed for the older boy in order to develop the younger nor did I want the younger to feel overwhelmed and have to keep up with his older brother. Coach did a fantastic job working with them individually and together ensuring that each progressed at their own pace. Both were challenged and neither overwhelmed. I have since signed up for additional lessons as I enjoy his coaching style and can see he takes an interest. With his help I know both boys will learn a lot and improve their game.

Tobe has been a great help to our daughter! We look forward to continuing lessons with him.

Tobe has been terrific to work with. He has excellent knowledge of the game and has been able to identify areas in my son's game that he could improve. Tobe is engaging, easy to relate to and shows my son exactly how to use the skills he is teaching him. I have no doubt my son will reach another level of achievement in basketball, by working with Tobe.

Coach Tobe has been very helpful in assisting my son develop his skills and confidence. My son looks forward to all his practices.
