More About Coach Terrell
I’ve coached and trained basketball players for more than 15 years, working with athletes from elementary school through the collegiate level. My experience includes NCAA Division III recruiting, NEPSAC prep school basketball, AAU programs, youth development, and elite player training. I’ve served as a high school varsity head coach, college assistant coach, and skills trainer, while also leading player development programs throughout New England. I primarily work with athletes ages 8 through college, focusing on skill development, basketball IQ, confidence, and game performance.
I was a standout player at Brandeis University, where I helped lead the program to multiple NCAA Division III Elite Eight appearances. During my collegiate career, I became a 1,000-point scorer and earned NABC All-American honors, establishing myself as one of the top players in Division III basketball.
Since transitioning into coaching and player development, I’ve trained athletes at every level of the game—from youth and high school players to NCAA Division I standouts, overseas professionals, and NBA players. My clients have gone on to earn Division I scholarships, compete professionally around the world, and reach the NBA. My approach emphasizes elite skill development, basketball IQ, confidence, and game application, helping athletes maximize their potential and perform at the highest level.
Every session is designed to be game-like, high-energy, and detail-oriented. We typically begin with a ball-handling warm-up to activate the body, improve coordination, and sharpen decision-making. From there, we move into shooting, focusing on proper mechanics, footwork, and consistency before progressing to game-speed pickups, off-the-dribble shots, and movement shooting.
Once we’ve established a rhythm, we shift to finishing around the basket, working on finishes through contact, different angles, touch, and creativity around the rim. Conditioning is built into every workout, so athletes are constantly training at game pace rather than separating skill work from fitness.
No two sessions are exactly the same, but every workout is built around developing complete players by improving skill, confidence, basketball IQ, and the ability to perform under game-like pressure.
