More About Coach Terell

Head Skill Trainer at Big Break Academy.

I interned with TNT Training during my years in college.
Have coached and trained with anyone from 4th Grade- D1 Athlete.
So I am open to any one that has the love and desire to get better. We put no limitations on our training no matter their age, size, play style or gender. in order for players to B come the player that they WANT to become. I certified by Impact Academy and in the process of being certified by Impossible Training.

Ive had success at every level that I have competed at.
I was a former 3 year varsity performer at Larkin High School including my senior year where I made 3 All- Area Teams and All-Conference.
I went to on to play basketball at Elgin Community College where I earned All-Conference honors my Sophmore year and would go on to earn a scholarship to D2 Purdue North Central in Indiana.

At Purdue North Central I averaged 15.8 points per game and 7.7 rebounds my Sr. Year and led our team to the winningest season in school history and once again earned All-Conference Honors.
I garnered attention from a few professional teams in Italy, Germany and France but decided to dedicate my life to helping kids chase their dreams.

Sessions will be based on game like situations and every session will have a specific focus. Typically, the first session is a assessment session to assess a players game. Sessions will be detailed to simulate what realistically occurs in a real game. We want to create an environment where players want to be. So while I do stress the importance of hard work and constant progress. More than anything we stress the importance of creating quality relationships with our players to develop the trust, mentality and passion to play this game at the highest level.

Client Reviews

John worked well with my son.

My son had his first session today and he loves training with him overall he really challenges the player to get better with repitition after repetition

My 10 year old son has had three sessions so far and is really enjoying it. He's being worked hard, but with encouragement and his game is improving. Thanks!

Coach Terell is one of the best coaches I've had to help me grow as player. He gives you drills that are game like situations, unlike those generic drills you find on YouTube. He helps you work on your weaknesses, in my case ball handling, and as long as you keep putting reps in and trying to implement it in pick up games, you will see results. He lets you learn on your own pace at the same time pushes you beyond your comfort zone. I recommend anyone trying to improve their game to go to Coach Terell for help at any level.

My son enjoyed training with Coach Terell. As a parent, we saw some improvement in his game so we book another session with him next week.

Was very friendly and explained everything in a neat manner. We worked on footwork and making my shot quicker. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for training.

My son was elated after his first session w Coach Terrell! He said he learned so much & coach really helped him where he needed it most. Coach Terrell is also very flexible & easy to communicate with via text. We would definitely recommend him!

We did 1 session with Coach Terell. He is really good. I recommend this coach for future classes.

He's a great coach. Really works on your weaknesses more than strengths. To make your weaknesses your actual strengths. He gives new tips and makes sure you reach the next level of basketball.

Coach Terell was great! After one session I was taught so much, and he really pushed me out of my comfort zone, while really enhancing my skills. I look forward to working with him again!

Although we are just getting started, Coach Terell's guidance has already taught me a lot about what it takes to become an effective shooter. Hopefully, this means that there is a lot more progress to come, so that I can become a much better shooter.

Coach Terell was able to quickly connect with my son and get him excited about training with Coach Terell. He pushed my son to work hard and have fun with the drills. The drills were designed to help my son in areas that really needed improvement and they were fun to watch. Great job!

I have been around plenty of trainers over the years. Some good ones and some not so good but today I witnessed the best basketball application base basketball training by Terell. Great Job!!
