I was first certified in 1981 with Family Fitness Centers of North America.
I am an Expert in the American Bench, Dead-lift and Squat both conventional and Sumo Style. Not only have I been competing for 37 years, but I've been a coach now for over 25 years. I am also a professional MMA referee and Ringside Judge, having worked over 300 fights from Honolulu to Central America, Brazil and on. I also teach 101 weight lifting, Basic and advanced fitness to American Power Lifting and theory and of course Jiu-jitsu and Arm-Wrestling.
In addition, I was a professional dancer in my 20s so i understand movement.

Fitness is my life!

I grew up on a dairy farm so I know the meaning of hard work;
There are no short cuts, only hard work and dedication!

2 time World Arm-Wrestling Champion Winning the Middle-weight and Heavy-weight divisions 3 time Silver medalist.
2 time World Jiu-jitsu Champion winning the Super Heavy-weight and overall divisions I won my titles in Rio de Janerio Brazil and a Silver in the Super-heavy weight.

I am and was Trained by Relson Gracie, Romolo Barros, Kai Garcia, Jason Efan the Late Lynn Silbert and the most Powerful Curtis Leffler.

Sessions are built around the student, client, athlete, they are sport specific. They are designed around your goals and aspirations, I teach injury free workouts and have been around long enough to know the difference between a fad and what really works. On average sessions go from an hour to hour and half depending on how you are performing.

I have been trained by and alongside some of the most elite athletes and trainers in the MMA world since 1995. Steve's idea's are groundbreaking and I have personally found tremendous results following his instruction. Being a very busy older (46) athlete I appreciate the short intense work-outs that do not leave me sore the next couple days. Yet I still achieve the gains i desire in an injury free environment.
I have trained with Steve on multiple occasions. Currently, as well as last year, and 9 to 10 years ago. Steve is a motivator and holds you to correct form. Thank you for taking the time to read this correspondence. My name is Steven "Soul Samurai" Saito and am writing in regards to my strength coach Steven. For 6 years now, I have been a professional fighter, as well as a professional coach for mixed martial arts, boxing, kickboxing, jiujitsu, and wrestling. I have also been a traditional martial arts instructor for over 10 years holding black belts in taekwondo and kempo karate. I also have about 5 years of experience in the tactical training and security fields. I am writing to you today as a student of world champion jiujitsu, strong man competitor, and arm wrestling champion Steven. Over the years, I have trained with and coached under the tutelage of many great fighters and coaches. However, in all of my years of experience in the ring and as a coach no one has matched the strength and conditioning techniques and methodology as taught by Steven. It is method I continue to practice and the method that I pass down to my students. Unlike many coaches certified through internet testing sites, Steven has proven that his methods work in World Class competition himself. He is highly knowledgable about body mechanics and as a coach will not allow his students to perform poor technique repetitively, which is one of the highest causes of injury in our field. Steven is a firm believer that strength and conditioning must be trained separately and that the training regimen should be sport specific as much as possible. Unlike fad training systems like cross fit, where heavy weight is used with high reps mixed in with cardio, Steven understands that the body cannot make significant strength gains and cardio gains simultaneously, thus focuses on one thing at a time. For example, the beginning of my training camps will start with heavier weighted lifts with low reps to build my strength, technique and explosiveness. The closer I get to the fight, Steve will taper my training down to body weight work outs and wind sprints to build explosive stamina. I highly recommend Steven if you want a coach that will be able to deliver superior results without injury and also teach you how your body works best. Thank you again for your time and attention.
